Westlake Radial RP18 rated 86% while driving a Toyota Corolla
Driving on a combination of roads for 40 miles
Im surprised by the excellent cost/benefit of this tire. Very good treadwear (looks like new after 12,000 km) very comfortable ride, low noise. I drive my Toyota Corolla about 60% of the time on the road and 40% within cities and could not be happier. I do recommend this tire. Instead of being classified as cheap tires, they should be classified as low cost tires. This sounds much better and is more respectful for both the manufacture and the customers.

Westlake Radial RP18 rated 83% while driving a Toyota Corolla
Driving on a combination of roads for 7 average miles
They say west lake is a “cheap tire” but the word “cheap” passes the wrong idea that these are low quality tires which they are not. After eight months driving a set of RP18’s through streets with lots of pot holes and poor or good quality asphalt, I’ve noticed that these are just typical touring tires, the same as Pirellis, Continentals and so on. They generate low noise level and after 10,600 km the treads look like new. I’m well impressed about their performance on dry and wet roadso. I had Dunlops, Michelins and Bridgestones installed in my cars before trying the Westlake and I everyone to stop criticizing this Westlake brand just because their tires are a Chinese brand. After all Chinese products are being criticized (pure nonsense) the same way as the Japanese products and cara were criticized when they arrived in western markets on early sixties and seventies. Now take a look on Japanese brands image and customer’s perception at the present time. Let’s wake up my friends!!!

Nokian Hakkapeliitta R2 SUV rated 93% while driving a Honda 2009 CRV
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 average miles
I have these tires on my 2nd generation Honda CRV. I live in British Columbia, Canada where we have 5 to 6 months of Winter with snow and ice and temperatures of down to -50 C plus windchill. These were my first Nokian tires but I have been so pleased with their performance I now have three different sets for two vehicles. These tires work with the AWD of the CRV to deliver a feeling of real security on bad winter roads. Tire wear has been minimal, I expect to get at least 10 years use out of mine because I drive less than average each year and change over to all season Nokian’s in the Spring.

Insa Turbo Special Track rated 52% while driving a Suzuki Jimny
Driving on track for 10000 average miles
It's important to remember why these tyres have been purchased, they excel off road on muddy terrain. They have been fitted to our Suzuki Jimny for 4 years covering 10'000 miles in that time. As yo would expect they are nosy on road and don't perform very well but they are not meant to be good on asphalt. They are however very good off road, not bad in the snow once it has compacted a little but not good in fresh power or once fully compacted. In summery they are good at what they are designed to do.

Bridgestone Dueler AT 001 rated 86% while driving a Honda HRV
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 average miles
I drive these on winter only, just to switch from the Potenza S001 I drive on summer. They are great on snow and ice, also in handling. Recommended for mild winter conditions with long dry periods and freezing temperatures. If dry breaking is a priority on freezing temperatures, go AT001. If snow braking is a priority, go DM-V1.
Remember: Bridgestone ONLY !!

Westlake SL369 rated 73% while driving a Suzuki Jimny
Driving on a combination of roads for 6 average miles
This is my second set, fitted on on two cars - a Suzuki Jimny and an SX4. Here in Australia they are known as Goodride SL369. On the Jimny they replaced a set of supercheap oversize '4WD' tyres and the improvement in handling, ride and noise was marked. On the SX4 they replaced a set of quality Continental road-biased tyres that were wearing out and had a blow-out that ruined the tyre on the very stony 'Road to Nowhere' on Tasmania's West Coast. Compared to the Continental tyres, they are a bit noiser on the road and a bit 'squidgier' cornering, but neither to an extent that is a problem. Performance in the dry is good and is quite acceptable in the wet. Wear after 10,000 kms is light. The real attraction was the price, some half to two thirds of other A/T tyres for the Jimny in this size. The SX4 is 205 60 R16 and I recall the choice for an A/T tyre was more limited and much more expensive. I drive the Jimny tentatively and the SX4 hard. So, in conclusion, if you have a mix of bitumen, town and dirt roads (I have chains for the snow), these are highly recommended.

General Snow Grabber Plus rated 89% while driving a Honda CRV
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
It will be their 3th winter and the rubber is still soft. As brand new the tread depth was a bit less than most of the other new tyres. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=R_Hyi5TN4ts

Petlas Explero W671 rated 58% while driving a Suzuki Jimny
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 average miles
This tyres have indeed just average performance on packed snow and ice as the manufacture suggests. However they are terrible when it came to the sidewall stability and running at speed on highway. In just 50-60km wind and running with anything above 70km, the car bounces scary all over the road with a 70mm tall sidewall and that became critical when the temperature rises to 7-8 C degrees. The lateral stability is not that good either, when on tracks in packed snow a 4x4 goes side to side more than a street car does on good tyres. I do not recommend this, for just a few more you can get better.

Kumho Solus KH17 rated 60% while driving a Honda CRV
Driving on mostly motorways for 13000 average miles
The tyres are quiet for the first few thousand km but after wearing down, the road noise becomes more noticeable. The grip for these are good but they significantly drop after around 20k km on them, I realise that without proper tyre rotation the handling is hampered. I was initially satisfied for the first 15k km on them but as they started to wear down the handling characteristic and acceleration deteriorated and I was forced to rotate them (FWD car). For the price I paid for them which is AUD580 (2 pairs), I expected them to last at least 50k km but unfortunately, I might have to replace them before that mark as the threads on the front tyres are 2-3mm shallower than the rear tyres. Overall, they are good tyres but I would not buy them again because of poor longevity and ageing characteristics.
