215/75 16 Tyre Review Highlights

Nexen Roadian CT8 rated 63% while driving a Peugeot Boxer
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
Cargo tire with great wear and good dry handling. Unfortunately they are terrible in the wet and the wet characteristics get worse every year as the tire ages. Cornering in the wet is especially bad and feels like a 20 year old tire was fitted. Also very sensitive to temperature, as dry grip decreases significantly if the temps are

Nexen N Blue 4 Season rated 89% while driving a Ford Transit Custom
Driving on mostly motorways for 15000 spirited miles
I've got the 8 ply commercial version on a XLWB Ford Transit and driven 15000 miles on them in under a year with little wear which is great for an all season. Currently in Eastern Europe driving daily on snow and ice and I'm really impressed. I first used Nexan's on a BMW 330D M-Sport and was really impressed with them in the wet. Wet: I had Avon's on the van before which were very unpredictable in the wet. They'd only been on the van a year so barely worn, but in the wet there was no warning which is why I changed them. The Nexan's solved that problem. I'm still cautious due to how the Avon's performed, but so far I've not had this issue with the Nexan's after 10 months. Dry: It's a van so cant say much for dry performance. Fuel: On multiple 2000 mile trips across Europe, fuel consumption between the Avon's and Nexan's is about the same. 6 fuel stops for both tyres. Snow: Amazing. Lots of feel while braking, and steering is great. Front and Rear traction are well balanced with enough feel to be confident and enjoy the drive rather than worry. Any slide is progressive and controllable assuming normal driving speed. I'm honestly surprised how well an all-season does compared to a full winter. Ice: Nothing short of a studded tyre is going to work well on ice, but so far I've not got stuck on ice with the Nexans unlike the Avons. Moderate inclines are no problem, but I've not attempted from a standing start. On my drive with ice - not a problem unlike myself that fell. Buy Again: Yes - I already bought a second set of 5 for future use. Summary: For a van, these tyres give a lot of feel and confidence. On snow it almost becomes fun rather than stressful as the van is so predictable and controllable.

Hankook Vantra LT rated 49% while driving a Fiat ducato van
Driving on mostly motorways for 3000 easy going miles
Very sadly disappointing, the performance was very good in general, however after many recommendations, I must have purchased a bad batch. Since purchasing a full set of four and having them professionally fitted 2 yrs ago, I have had 3 fail with extremely large sidewall bubbles, 2 whilst on holiday in France. Everytime I take the tyre to be inspected before replacement I am told that I must have hit a pot hole, which simply wasn't true.
The tyres were fitted with the correct pressure for the vehicle and its load and speed.

Rotalla F105 rated 41% while driving a
Driving on for 0 miles
One of the Rotalla transporter tyres on my motorhome delaminated on the m40 at 55mph. Causing mayhem as the disintegrating tyre tore off wheel arches and sill sections. Major road safety concerns!!!

Continental 4x4 Contact rated 60% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2
Driving on mostly country roads for 8000 easy going miles
Have these fitted to Freelander 2. have driven around 8000 miles on them. Wet grip is OK but should be better for a tyre that is so expensive, and the fuel rating is dreadful for a so called premium tyre. Dry grip seems good. Handling feels OK but again could/should be better for the price. The tyre is only fit for very light off road use. Going over a wet grass field uphill shows it weakness immediately, lots of spin even at low revs, only just made it leaving muddy tracks across the pasture. Cant comment about snow but I suspect given its not so good wet grip rating that its not that wonderful.

Infinity INF100 rated 84% while driving a Ford transit
Driving on mostly motorways for 6000 spirited miles
These have been fitted on a Ford Transit and were a great price. So far I have driven 6000 miles in 2 months in them and can't fault them. I don't know what a premium brand would feel like as the van was bought with economy tyres but I have not worried that they are inferior. I would buy again and a colleague has just replaced Bridgestone tyres with these and he claims not to notice any real difference.

Continental 4x4 Contact rated 50% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2
Driving on a combination of roads for 14000 easy going miles
These tyres were fitted from new on my Freelander 2. They are suppose to be an all season tyre. Very poor for snow & ice use. As previous posts have suggested. Very poor tread wear too. 14k from a full set, easy driving.#
A very average tyre, for not average cash. Not suitable for winter use.
I have found far better budget tyres for alot less cash.
Unfortunately in my size H or above rated tyres (215/75 16), there's only two makes available. The conti's & another well known brand. I have now upgraded my alloys. Far better choice of tyres.

Not good value for money.
I will not be buying these again.
