190/45 17 Tyre Review Highlights

Pirelli Diablo Rosso III rated 87% while driving a Yamaha R1
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
Always used Pirelli’s on my R1 and the Rosso3 is the best yet. Great grip and usability as-well and if you drop the pressures can be used as a ‘decent’ track tyre. Would definitely recommend and will be getting another set of these tyres

Michelin Pilot Power 3 rated 90% while driving a Yamaha R1
Driving on a combination of roads for 6885 spirited miles
Drive a 2012 YZF-R1. Fitted them at 2112 miles and currently at 6885 miles. Still has thread though square a little in the middle of the thread. Sides strips still have life though slight instability has begun in tight corner entrance on the twisties. Huge screw stuck in the middle of the thread which will make me change. Would buy again for sure. Interested in the Michelin Road 5.

Dunlop SportSmart TT rated 90% while driving a Yamaha R1
Driving on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
Bought these as I wanted a tyre that was usable on the road and could handle the odd track day, these do both with ease, they have super fast warm up time something you don't really get with track focus tyres but these are different. On the road you will not find there limits not unless your Michel dunlop or some other road racing god... On the track the same applies these really are a fantastic tyre, don't buy these if you want to use them to do 1000s miles up and down the motorway as they will not last... Expect no more than 3000 miles depending on how hard you ride..

Avon 3D Ultra Sport rated 97% while driving a
Driving on for 0 miles
I have a Benelli TNT 1130 Evo Sport. Bike is a bit of a handful but in a good way. It came to me with Metzlers and in all honesty I have now had two bike with these tyres and they just don't work for me. Changed onto £d Ultra's and boy my bike has become even more enjoyable and I can now ride within militias with confidence. I live in the south of France so rain is not a problem. The Avons are a really good tyre and I would recommend easily to anyone with a big HP bike.

Avon Storm 2 Ultra rated 89% while driving a Kawasaki ZZR1400
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
Said I would never buy avon tyres don't now why but I always did,
anyway I bought a zzr1400 two years ago with them on, and I will be replacing them with the same tyre storm ultra 2, how wrong was I,
I am now going to feel like a fool by saying mine have done 12,000 on both, up to now and still going looks like another 2,000 left in them crazy I know,
and I do ride as the zzr14 wants to be ridden hard most of the time, I have had not issue's with the storm 2 in the wet or dry that any other tyre would not have done, recently I have been up and down motorways the rear has squared off, but all tyres do that, I am more than happy with these tyres I tell it as it is and I am no dreamer.

Bridgestone Battlax BT 023 rated 100% while driving a Honda CBR1000RR10
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 average miles
Well here is an updat as I had only riden 350 miles when I wrote my review. I really acnt belive how good these tyres are, I have now riden in the rain and to say they were good is an understatment. They give so much confidence its scary. I was out the other day and there was a lot of standing water on th eroad but these tyres handled everything.
I've been told that Bridgestone is getting a tyre to replace these at the end of 2012!! If they do the new tyre will have big shoes to fill!!

Avon Viper Supersport AV60 rated 56% while driving a Yamaha R1
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 spirited miles
These are possibly the scariest tyres i have ever ridden on an R1 in the wet, the front tyre twitches and slides at the slightest mark in the tarmac and the rear spins up at half lean even in 4th. In the dry, they are fairly nuetral but again the front does not inspire confidence and slids easily when pushed. Breaking hard into a corner is well dodgy and hard throttle through bumpy corners requires some serious arm muscle to hang on to the steering. Wear is incredible, they seem to last forever. I will not be fitting these again for the sake of my underpants if nothing else.
