190/55 17 Tyre Review Highlights

Continental ContiRoadAttack 2 Gran Turismo rated 98% while driving a Kawasaki zx9r
Driving on mostly country roads for 100 spirited miles
I bought these for my zx9r E2 and have only done 100 miles which I commute every day cross country on great biking A and B roads. When I rode out of the garage to start the scrub process they were actually twitchy for the first 30 miles like riding on ice. By 50 miles they felt normal but contiuned the scrubbing process. By 100 miles the confidence already feels very high but I can already feel that the grip in wet and dry due to conditions (fog, rain and dry intermittent patched) that they are truly planted. I cannot comment on lifing yet or the progressive limit but they feel very comfortable and absorb the poor UK road conditions well. I am hoping they last well but that is also down to how much right hand you dial in. Will keep you up dated. Not the cheapest but having been around the Conti factory as an Engineer visiting they are made in germany and the quality of finish is excellent. The rear tire required no weights it was perfect of a bike having done 20K miles. only 8grams on front so something they are doing is making them precise.

Michelin Power Pure rated 96% while driving a Yamaha R1
Driving on mostly country roads for 1500 spirited miles
On the very first ride you will notice Michelins light tyre technology, I felt the bike was much more eager to turn, it was almost similar to riding with lighter wheels. They are not as quick to warm here in South Wales as I was expecting, but they are not bad. The front is not as confidence inspiring as I had hoped for but will not move on the edge. In fairness I am used to a road legal track tyre with a medium compund so this tyre is really quite impressive. The reason I felt the need to write was its wet grip. Now this is a different story, this tyre is amazing!!! I was able to push hard over the mountains and the tyre did not slip once, common sense stops you from kicking the arse out of it, but I reckon given its wet grip you will be hard pushed to find a better all round tyre. This tyre could only be bettered by the same tyre with different compund choices!!! Another thing is, I am not exactly sure where this tyre lives in the market place, the media on it is confusing, is it a road tyre? or a road legal track tyre? if it is a road tyre then this is the best tyre money can buy fact. If its a road legal track tyre its great also but not the best. Great job Michelin miss you guys on the GP circuit on the mountain roadss, I hate bridgestones they just can't cut it out there

i love these tyres, i have never felt so confident, and i really believe in the technology there using in them seen as you can get on the bike and drive as if you have already warmed the tyres up, i had good feedback in rain which i have never had with other tyres and i have used 4 different sets now, these are the tyres for me.

Driving on mostly motorways for 0 spirited miles
wasnt a popular tyre in as people has always been accustomed to Pirelli SC but for me this tyre is the best for aggressive riders.

It perform best in hot and dry condition but also is the one that i can trust in the wet. Ridden in heavy storm on the twisted highway but i never need to speed down too much like i have been in Pirelli SC which sucks too much on the wet.

Clocked 4000km now, which i emptied 2 full tanks on the track and still the tyre is still in their 40% condition(10% track, 70% on highways, 20% on country roads). might change it after i hit 1000 or 2000km more or 1 more Sepang trackday as i can sells it as 2nd hand rather than use it up and throw away

Metzeler SPORTEC M7 RR rated 93% while driving a Honda CBR954RR-3
Driving on mostly country roads for 4000 spirited miles
Amazing tyre, grip extremely well in the dry and good enough in the dry. They've inspired masses of confidence, great tyre. In my experience Metzeler M7RR are an overall better tyre than Pilot Power 3's, Pilot Road 3's, BT023's (all tyres ive tried in the past).
