235/55 19 Tyre Review Highlights

Bridgestone Potenza Sport rated 77% while driving a Toyota RAV4
Driving on mostly motorways for 13000 average miles
Good grip both in dry and wet conditions, pretty comfort, road noise is mild to a bit loud.
Will definitely re-buy again.

Goodyear Assurance ComfortDrive rated 60% while driving a Chrysler 300C
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
Pros: Smooth & comfortable ride as advertised. Cons: every single road imperfection (such as hot crack patch) and minor road bump, along with every single change in road "texture" comes right into the cabin. My previous 2 sets of Michelin MXm4's were superior to these Chinese tires. Stuck with them now!

Michelin Defender 2 rated 90% while driving a Dodge Challenger
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 average miles
We own a Dodge Challenger GT AWD. We dive the challenger year round. The OEM tires were Michelins and were touring tires. They were super comfortable and offered great handling. When we went lookng for our next tires we found out that the OEM tires were no longer available. They spec'd the Defender 2 at Costco and we extremely pleased with them. We have summer and winter rims and are so happy with the Defenders that we are buying them again for the summer rims. and they came with a rebate, too! Happy customers! Thanks, Michelin.

Nokian Snowproof 2 SUV rated 94% while driving a Volvo XC60 D5 AWD Auto
Driving on mostly motorways for 8000 average miles
Driving these tyres on my Volvo XC60 D5 AWD in Switzerland since October 2023 for 13000 km.
What amazed me with those tyres is the grip and security they give during heavy raining or slush. They provided excellent control at high speed during a heavy snow storm in Germany in December while the highway was not properly cleaned. And they are always secure through water puddles on the highway or when driving through heavy rain.
One drawback is the increased fuel consumption (~1 liter/100 km) while driving on rain.
There is noticeable tread wear on the front axle but I did not measure the remaining tread depth, yet.
One characteristic is the noticeable noise and steering wheel vibration during cornering at low speeds (10-20 km/h).
The highway driving noise is particularly high pitched, but not disturbing.
I am satisfied with these tyres and would recommend them for anyone driving through snow, slush or rain.
Dry braking seems a bit worse than with the summer Continental Premium Contact 6 tyres, but was never a practical issue.

Kumho KL33 rated 50% while driving a Audi Q5
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
These tires came OEM on my 22 Audi Q5. They only lasted 15k miles before being replaced despite regular rotation. Additionally the company was unresponsive and unwilling to stand by their warranty. If you are looking to buy a new Audi check the tires carefully as they seem to be cheaping out on OEM tires lately.

The dry traction and responsiveness was good. Braking on dry surfaces was good.

Performance in rain was just ok overall. Braking and traction was good initially but began to deteriorate as treadwear increased. By 4/32” wet performance when braking was poor.

Even when new performance in light snow was marginal at best and poor in heavy or compacted snow. By the end of the tread life rhe tires were unsafe in light snow.

Performance on gravel and compacted dirt driveways was ok when dry and marginal when wet.

Road noise was good initially but became noticeably worse as the tread wore down.

Bottom line this was not a good set of tires and I do not recommend them and I hope Audi receives enough complaints to change their OEM to a quality supplier.

Hankook Ventus iON S rated 94% while driving a Nissan Ariya
Driving on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
These are a replacement for Bridgestone Alenza 001 on my Nissan Ariya. The main issue with the Alenza being a lack of wet road grip. This has been resolved by the fitment of the Hankook Ion's which immediately have given me the wet traction I desired. They also feel better keyed into the road with more feedback and less understeer. The tyres have more foam noise treatment than th Alenza's and appear marginally quieter.

This tyre is being used on the Highland revision of the Tesla Model 3, where it's claimed this will bring additional range. I'll be monitoring efficiency and wear rates through the life of the tyre. Tread depth starts at 6.8mm which is typical for EV specific tyres.

Goodyear Wrangler HP rated 78% while driving a Alfa Romeo Stelvio 2.2 Diesel
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 average miles
I had not heard of these tyres until I bought my Alfa Stelvio, having driven on Michelin Cross Climate and Nokian All Seasons on other cars.
I drive to Northern Italy on a regular basis during Winter and Summer and find the grip in all weather conditions excellent.

Continental Premium Contact 6 rated 90% while driving a Volvo XC60 D5 AWD Auto
Driving on mostly motorways for 5000 average miles
Around 8000 km driven with these summer tyres since April 2023 (5 months).
Grip is excellent and the car feels safe on the road. Wet grip is great and driving on highway (120-130 kmph) in strong rain did not show any issue. Even during aquaplaning in bigger puddles the car kept its direction and did not feel like losing control.
The only thing I have observed is that fuel consumption increases with 0.5 to 1 liter per 100 km when driving on wet highways.
They have around 6.5 - 7mm tread depth left on both axles and I can not still pronounce myself about the wear as I did not measure the new tyres' tread depth.
Did not have to use the brakes strongly in an emergency, but they seem efficient with normal breaking, both in dry and wet. Maybe wet breaking feedback is better and they seem to 'stick' to the road, but it's just a personal feeling.
The label says that the noise level is 72dB, supposedly noisy tyres, but my experience is that there is no noticeable noise from inside during driving on dry roads with smooth surfaces. On roads with rough surfaces there is noise, of course.
The overall experience is a good one and I would recommend them, especially for their wet performance.

Michelin CrossClimate 2 SUV rated 83% while driving a Volvo XC60
Driving on a combination of roads for 500 average miles
Replaced OEM Continental EcoContact 6. Difference is night and day. The Michelins are quieter, more comfortable and surprisingly for an all season tyre provide better feedback. Noise from road imperfections used to crash through the cabin on the old Continentals but the Michelins are almost completely silent. Fuel economy is unaffected in urban driving and only 0.5 to 1mpg worse on longer journeys which is more than acceptable for the added benefits of the Crossclimate. Too early to comment on their winter performance but if they are as good as the non-SUV Crossclimates on our other car then they will be more than adequate for frosty mornings in Devon country lanes. Would definitely buy again.

Pirelli Scorpion Verde All Season rated NAN% while driving a Mercedes Benz GLC 300 4MATIC
Driving on mostly town for 20 easy going miles
These tires (run flat version) were worn out at 10,000 miles. I had them rotated every season at the dealer. at 10,000 miles, 2 of the 4 tires are completely worn out while the 2 others are worn out enough that the dealer refuses to put them on. Simply unacceptable. Bad quality is my best guess
