Continental Sport Contact Reviews

Given 77% (breakdown) while driving a Ford Focus ST170 (215-45-17-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 30,000 spirited miles
These tyres were the OEM originals that came with the ST170. I found dry weather grip to be very good although not as good as later tyres such as Pilot Sport's. Wet weather performance seemed fine when I first got the car but dipped substantially when tread depth reached about 4mm. At this point understeer was often sharp and extreme compared to earlier performance. On the road the tyres were very quiet and comfortable. Wear was excellent, cant complain about 30000 miles of pretty hard driving.

Given 74% (breakdown) while driving a MG ZT T (190) (225-45-18-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 11,000 spirited miles
Reviewing has got to be subjective - particularly wet conditions surely the driver is a much bigger factor than tyre (see British GP 2008!) and unless we compare the same vehicle, judgement must be limited. That said, I have had this car for about 22,000 miles on same tyre with front tyres lasting about 11,000 (fwd 2.5 V6). The wet performance is very good (I don't remember a single scary moment, very aquaplane resistant on motorway and A road). Excellent grip and feel in the dry, but then for an estate, it really handles (car bigger factor than tyre?). Reviews so far are not convincing me to bite the bullet and try another brand for ?150 a corner, although I know this would make my review more useful!

Driving on mostly town for 15,000 spirited miles
Good in the dry, not so good in the wet (especially when low-ish). More exciting tyres out there.
Good durabilty though.
