Buy this tire, there will be no regrets in any segment.

Got the pair of PS4 around 2 years ago, replacing the worn F1A3 in the front axle, and now rotated to the back since last Nov. At new, the PS4 were not as responsive as the part-worn F1A3, often a little-bit too numb in the feel, and a bit too much understeer. After ~5,000 km (3,100 miles) the feeling has improved to what I expected at the purchase, being sharper and more direct in the feeling, understeering also improved. Much less aquaplanning in the wet comparing to the part-worn F1A3, which was the reason I chose Michelin over Goodyear. (Now the mid-life PS4 are rotated to the back with the front replaced with new PS5)

Wet handling is excellent. However, wet braking isn't. I found it expensive for me. Replacement are continental tc6. A little bit noisy at highway. Nice at low speed bumps.

Excellent grip in the dry and wet. Does extremely well when aquaplaning as well as braking in different conditions. Noticeably more understeer and not as direct compared to the previous Dunlop Sport Maxx RT2's that were on it but it does have a lot more grip. Wear is okay but to be expected from a tyre like this. Even though quite comfortable (rounds off bumps and small potholes, even on 18 inch rims) it can be very noisy on uneven or bad roads however.

Having bought a used e90 318i 2011 in 2019 with 90k on the clock for a bargain, it had 4 separate brand of tyres including one winter.

I had just sold a 640d couple that I had put MPS4S’s on all around and due to the difference these made to that car I knew I wanted the MPS4’s for this, having only be available in 18” staggered setup.

The previous mixed tyres would often cause genuine unpredictable driving at bends on motorway junctions and to me felt off.

The freshly installed Michelins were a huge improvement, the car had low power yet was lightweight. In the dry it would never wheelspin and even in the wet it was very rare even if I tried (as a test).

I drove up around the highlands on the route 500 (ended up doing 2k miles in 10 days).. and the tyres performed perfectly, genuine high grip inspiring confidence yet still comfortable and limit road noise.

The new tyres helped make this drivers trip a genuine pleasure and even my partner praised her driving skills on the amazing roads with the new tyres.

Really good tyre and I managed a full set for £409 with an offer back in Feb 2020.

They have done 24k miles (mainly motorway) and the rears are just on 3mm) the fronts have slightly more. They will be replaced now only as having moved to Scotland and gone for a set of winter tyres with the hilly nature of Glasgow and possible lower temperatures/snow when we venture out.

I genuinely look forward to buying the newer MPS5’s as reviews show they are a slight improvement to the 4.

I use 215/40/17 87Y Michelin PS4s in my 2013 Ibiza CUPRA vehicle in the summer season, high performance summer tire for the summer heat on the Mediterranean coastline in the South of Turkey, it provides very safe handling even at high speeds on dry or heavy rainy roads, very safe after the tires are warmed up. it grips well, grips the road well, very fast and superior grip steering response on mountainous and tight curvy roads between cities, super slip on the panic brake on the dry city road when cold, ABS is activated very often, but I think the reason is because it is a low profile sporty tire with 40 sidewalls, about 25,000 since 2017 as a summer set of them. I use mileage, I have a separate set of tires for winter. I think that MICHELIN does not produce summer tires as long-lasting as winter tires, unfortunately PS4s were subject to rapid deformation despite low mileage and became old. I will replace them with ASYM 6s in the summer of 2023.

I've been running PS4 tyres for a number of years now after giving up on the likes of Bridgestone and Yokohama, mostly because not only are the inferior in grip and handling, but also don't seem to last all that long. I had a Ford Falcon G6E Turbo with around 400rwhp for many years and the PS4's were great. I still only got 20,000 to 25,000km out of them, but that was still better than the RE003's I'd had on previously, which never made 20,000km before reaching the wear markers, and they are in a different league than the RE003's especially in the wet - and we get a lot of wet where I live. Wet breaking is insane, almost supernatural.
Sadly the Falcon got written off when another driver decided to rear end it, and I'm now driving a Lexus GS460 - I replaced the crappy eco tyres that were on it when I got it with a set of PS4's - same size as I had on the Falcon, and the Lexus is a similar weight, though a bit less power, not entirely dissimilar suspension design though probably a bit more sophisticated than the Aussie boat. That was 7,000km ago - and I can tell already the Lexus is not going to be anywhere near as hard on tyres as the Falcon was.
Anyway the PS4's are obsolete now, as the PS5 has just replaced them this year. I'll be trying those out eventually, but it does appear the PS4's I have currently are going to last a lot longer than they did on the Falcon - at 7000km they still have over 5mm front and close to 4mm rear, so after a rotation I'll probably get another 20,000km out of them at least.
All in all, if you can still pick up a set of PS4's, and you drive a heavish, powerful RWD saloon with multli-link double-wishbone suspension in a subtropical climate, the PS4's will probably suit you well as they have me.

Great tyres overall, perfect for daily driven performance vehicles

Excellent grip in wet and dry. Wear is just insane! In this size 245/40/18, I have done 47000Km so far and there is about 4.5mm of tread left! Due to the staggered wheel design on my car, these are on the front and have never been rotated in 5 years. I must admit, I never abuse the tyres. The story is much different for the rears. Size 265/35/18 and the tyres are finished after 33000Km (4 years) - 1.5mm of tread left. So, same tyre model but different size and the wear rate is drastically different!

I had the tire for 65,000 km and during that time I was very pleased. At first the grip was great during wet and dry conditions and the noise was not very much. After about 45,000 km grip started to fall and after 60,000 km there was a humming noise from the front tires, and there was a pretty big drop of performance from the front tires creating lots of understeer (admittedly I never switched front to back so that had something to do with it).

In short I'm very disappointed with these tyres as they don't provide a "sporty" drive feeling. Negative: - They don't provide any feel or feedback while cornering which is probably related to the second point. - The ride feels very harsh and unforgiving. - Wet traction is very bad, a lot of wheelspin in the wet. - Cornering grip becomes dangerously low at lower temperatures / below 12°C. - They tend to understeer in all conditions. Neutral: - The rolling noise is acceptable, no high-pitched noise but a heavy rumble can be heard. Positive: - Rolling resistance seem very low according to lower fuel consumption than previous tyres. - The tyre wear appears to be quite good. I haven't tested these tyres on the track and I'm assuming they can provide better grip when they're heated up. This seems to be a very hard rubber compound.

Bought to replace partly worn Goodyear Asym 5s which had been on the car prior to my ownership and on which I covered approximately 5000 miles. The MPS4s have also covered about 5000 miles in my hands and the difference was night and day. The key feature is an incredible amount of grip, most notably in the wet. Shortly after fitting these tyres I relocated to the north of Scotland, where they performed adequately through the winter, tackling snow and ice with better results than I had expected. Comfort is not the best, I must admit. There is a considerable amount of tyre roar and the tyres do not absorb road imperfections with much grace, but these are not touring tyres and I suppose that's the nature of the beast. Fuel economy is remarkably good though, returning an average of 47mpg on mixed town and country roads with an inefficient automatic diesel. After 7000 miles of use, the tyres are down to a shade over 4mm on the front and about 6mm on the rear with very little loss of performance. They also hold air remarkably well, for what it's worth. Definitely one of the best tyres out there in my opinion for a medium performance car.
