Nexen N6000 Reviews

Given 60% (breakdown) while driving a Ford Galaxy (225-50-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 7,200 easy going miles
I thought I would give these tyres a try, after seeing some good reviews and seeing the good price, why not I thought?

I have 3 young children in the car and my wife usually drives so the car is never accelerating or driven hard.

These tyres were listed as XL extra load to cope with a Galaxy's carrying capabilities.

I cannot fault how they handle or behaved in the wet or the dry. We live in the Pyrenees mountains so very few motorways round here .....

BUT....7200 miles and they are on the wear indicators on the front, they have worn evenly across the tyre which shows we dont corner hard but to only get 7200 miles is absolutely RIDICULOUS!!!!!!

It seems that these tyres cannot cope with a heavier front end of a diesel car.
I will definitely not be buying again.

Given 83% (breakdown) while driving a MG ZT T (190) (225-45-18-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 13,000 spirited miles
I was initially really dubious having always used Bridgestones but I am pleased to say it is a very good tyre for what it is. A quality value tyre that is not designed for hang it out performance driving. For every day driving, moving the family around at the legal limit it is absolutely fine.
On a hooligan note, I drove them at an average 90 mph for 6 hours in France last year and they were fine.
As they wear the wet grip diminishes a bit, pulling away quickly from junctions with FWD will spin them up (maybe the big grooves in the middle lessen the amount of rubber on the road?. )
After 12k miles I swopped the fronts and backs and am now about to buy two more as one of the family drivers has kerbed and split a rear!! Joy!!

Driving on a combination of roads for 9,000 spirited miles
Not a fantastic tyre to be honest, the one and only reason I bought these again is the price.

Given 90% (breakdown) while driving a Vauxhall Vectra (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 14,000 spirited miles
Have had a pair on the rear of my vectra C 2.0dti for 14k miles and they've only worn down by 2.5mm (were 8mm- now 5.5) and have never given me any problems in the wet or dry. My Goodyear Nct5s on the front were down to about 3mm and were becoming a bit hairier round corners and roundabouts(when taken enthusiastically) and especially in the wet, so I've put 2 N6000s on as replacements which on early signs (200miles) seem to be much better at holding the road than the Nct5s ever were.
I will report back on the handling in a thousand more miles or so and the wear rate once they are down to the minimum or become less able and need replacing. I doubt they'll get anywhere near the mileage that the nct5s do but at £50 less(£65 all in from ATS) and with more grip- I think thats a fair trade.

Given 67% (breakdown) while driving a Ford Focus ST (225-45-18-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 7,000 average miles
These tyres were good in dry conditions but poor in cold and wet. In snow they are useless.

Driving on mostly town for 5,000 spirited miles
ive got an st-3 and had continentals sports contact 2 on the car origionally, but after looking at a few reviews online and using nexons on previous cars i decided to give them a try, i mainly drive around town and dont hang around so i needed a tyre that sticks to the road in all conditions, nexons are an overall great tyre, and also half the price of the tyres on the car origionally, would definatly recommend to anyone with an ST.

Given 99% (breakdown) while driving a Honda Accord (225-50-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 21,794 average miles
These tyres lasted 21,794 miles before replacement, and there was still at least 3mm of tread, but with winter coming I don't like to take chances. What was really good was the way the tyres wore evenly. Performance-wise, cannot fault them. I've seen a few reviews knocking Nexen but my experience has been extremely positive. Only gave 9/10 for wear because I hoped they would last a bit longer, but I'm probably just being an optimist!! Would have happily replaced with the same, but could not find the same tyres from my regular supplier at the right price, so went for Maxxis Z4S. Will let you know how these do.

Given 46% (breakdown) while driving a Audi A6 Avant 2tdi (225-50-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 8,000 easy going miles
I'm a 63 year old sedately driving a 2litre diesel A6 avant. 4 tyres changed 8200 miles ago. Front down to legal limit, but rear only worn down 1mm from original 6mm depth.
Usually get 1800 to 22000 from Continentals, Nankan and Maxxis, shall not buy again.
