Aprilia SL1000 Falco Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Continental ContiSport Attack given 93% (180-55-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
Oh I love them so much! I wore out a front ContiSportAttack while wearing out two rear Dunlop's which I really disliked. Fitted a Michelin Pilot Power set and had some front end locks on braking on a very ruff surface and some rear end skids without really provoking it, so I took them off before I would kill myself - now they work really well on a RST Futura, which is a much heavier bike. Then I bought a new pair of ContiRoadAttacks for a Falco. Front never missed a beat - not on previous Conti, not on the set I ride now. Never even gave me a single hint of a reason for doubt, always 100% confident in front grip even in braking and closing a turn in full lean. It grips best with a bit lower pressure (1.9 bar front, 2.3 rear) but it loses a tiny bit of feedback and becomes a bit lazier than with higher pressure which is normal. I did experience some rear end slides and rodeo style skids, but I was already WAY over all limits. Reactions were predictable and the bike stayed under control virtually all the time. Once again - I simply love them. Yes, I will buy again. I will definitely buy again!

Writing about the Avon 3D Ultra Sport given 92% (180-55-17-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 500 spirited miles
Having come from a set of premium Dunlop SportSmart 2 tyres, I was expecting the Avons to feel like the poor relation. I am pleased to say that this is in no way the case. These Avons are grippy, predictable, quick to turn in and very stable. I can't comment on their limits as I haven't yet found the limit on the road, but have happily reached the edge of the tyre, so they clearly inspire plenty of confidence. I've not used these in the wet yet, but have no reason to doubt their ability. Only done 500 miles, so can't yet comment on lifespan. I'm definitely getting a set of these on my R1. Great tyre!

Writing about the Bridgestone Battlax BT 021 given 100% (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 6000 spirited miles
I bought these because of the Mixed compounds as I am forced to do a lot of motorway riding. But when I can I love the lanes. I have a pair of BT021's and although maybe I haven't pushed them to their absolute limit, I don't hang about and they have given me nothing but confidence. And just to point out, there are no chicken strips on the sides!
I recently took part in a BikeSafe day with the Met Police and it rained and rained all day. I have never pushed a bike so hard in the rain before, even very very late braking, nearly missing a turning and the tyres never gave a hint of trouble.
On the motorways, well I don't hang about and the rear tyre has lasted well considering, only just starting to square off, but dont let that put you off.
Overall a great allrounder that I would buy again.
