Audi A5 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 given 100% (235-35-19-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 38000 easy going miles
I am so impressed with these tyres, they give the car a good smooth balance and have lasted almost 40k.

I have never thrashed any of my cars and like to drive smooth and be gentle, however on some A roads these tyres have gripped really well and give a nice firm feel.

The only drawback is that they are expensive up to 30% more than the competition.

These are great tires for the price both on yet and dry roads, people who makes negative posts about these tires,it's because they never had them,I have them on my car and they do a great job for the small price you pay for them.

Just replaced the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx on A5 after 12500 miles, they still had nearly 4mm on them but they were dangerous in the snow. I have replaced them with Continental SC5 and even allowing for 8mm v 4mm the difference is night and day, they cost a fortune £226 each (I could have got Dunlops for £190)but we can now go out in the snow and ice.
They will still spin on hard packed ice but they appear to be more controlled and (touch wood) we havent had to dig out yet.

We had to decide on winter tyres for our audi a5, as we live in a city and not out in the sticks we decided on this tyre. From the moment we left the garage with our new tyres on you never know for sure how your car will feel. Our first thoughts were these tyres suit the car as its comfortable as summer tyres. They grip dry roads just as good wet ones and give you absolute confidence in cold conditions. Its worth the money for a decent set of winter tyres, ask your self this question.. How much is your car worth!! Bring on the snow!!

Car came with Dunlop Sport Maxx tyres which have been pretty poor. Required replacing after 14,000 miles. Feedback and torque steer was awful and grip in wet and snow terrible. The Michelin Pilot Sports make the entire driving experience a joy, torque steer gone, no tramlining and more comfortable as well as quiet. Fantastic

Fitted these to my Audi A5 2.0T (Petrol)8 speed multitronc Front Wheel Drive after the Bridgestone Potenzas that came as new on the vehicle wore out after 9000 miles !!! (front). Although these have only now done 2000 miles they are amazing. The grip especially in the wet is like nothing ive used before. Also in snow and ice they were very good..... Now I know this is a bit of a bloke thing but I wanted to see just how good they were, so, on a very quiet, very wet road I decided to deliberately take an island too fast. The grip was so good that my "front wheel drive" car actually over steered causing my rear Bridgstone Potenzas with apx 5mm of tread to loose traction. (Im sure you all know that whilst not impossible, it`s quite hard to get a front wheel drive car to over steer. So, my verdict.... Will definitely buy again, and although I don't yet know what mileage I will get from these compared to the Bridgstones the fact that they are as good in the dry but a mile ahead in the wet is good enough for me. In fact, I cant think of a single fault I can pick with them.

Excellent tyre which is probably the best dry handling tyre out there however it is not as good as most people claim on here in the wet the CSC3 and F1A are much better in the wet from my experience. They wear well too giving me 18k which is impressive on a heavy diesel car.

Writing about the Pirelli PZero Rosso given 90% (245-40-18-W)
Driving on mostly town for 0 average miles
I recently purchased 2008 Audi A5 2.7 TDI. When test driving between 10-35 mph there was a lot of road noise and fine vibration felt on the steering. At the time i thought this to be road surface noise but was unsure as it was so severe but agianst my better judgment i bought the car. Drivng at speed was no problem but slowing or coastin between 35-standstill the car made a terrible noise and vibrations on the steering wheel were very bad, so much so that i could not imagine that it could all be down to tyre noise. The tyres on the car were budget Sunny make. I have replaced all four tyres with Pirelli PZero Rosso 97AO 245-40-18. The drive now is completely different, there is no noise or vibration apparent and the car has been transformed to being smooth and silent. Last week i was begining to think i had bought a car with major problems but it has been transformed by fitting the pirelli's and drives how you would expect the A5 to be, a very impressive vehicle.

Writing about the Dunlop SP Sport Maxx GT given 89% (235-35-19-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 36 average miles
I have just replaced all 4 Dunlop Sp Sport Maxx GT tyres on my A5 and insisted upon the same again as they have been exceptional in all road/weather conditions over 36,000 miles. They are certainly suited to the Quattro performance and well worth the minor additional outlay.
