Changed from worn Hankook Icept Evo2 winter tires to new Goodyear Eagle F1 Asym 6, so it is "apples to oranges". However, the difference is larger than I expected. Comfort (with a sporty suspension) is so much better that it almost feels like the difference to smaller rims. Road noise: significantly reduced and immediately noticeable. Handling feels very grippy. Comparison to P Zero summer tires from last year (~50% worn) is more difficult, but from my memory, the Pirellis were not as comfortable and didn't have such an enjoyable feeling to drive like the Goodyears.

I had Uniroyal Rainsport 3 tyres prior to purchasing a set of Michelin Pilot Sport 4 and the two don't even compare. I used to be able to throw my car around roundabouts and country roads in both wet and dry weather without a single worry but since I got the Michelin tyres I have had to calm my driving style drastically! I barely dare to overtake now when the roads are dry let alone when they are wet because these tyres just don't grip very well at all and has sent me fishtailing on a few occasions. My fuel consumption has gone down by around 100 miles per full tank with these tyres too which is dreadful considering I've been forced to slow my driving down. I bought the Pilot Sport 4s because of the reviews and a few people recommending them to me (one of which was a fellow TT quattro owner) but I can only say that I've been nothing other than disappointed with these. I will never buy another set of Michelin tyres after the experience I've had with these, thats for certain, and they aren't exactly cheap either! Complete waste of money!

Amazing grip in the dry and fantastic handling. Dropped 2 seconds round the track with these. Does wear out but not as fast as my Michellins. Road noise is minimal.

Avoid like the plague if you value your car and your life! Just picked up a courtesy car with Evergreens all round, on the 15 mile journey home I had 4 incidents of losing grip, this tyre has no we performance. Hit the brakes approaching a roundabout at less than 30mph and took about 30 meters to come to a stop..... which happened to be in the middle of the roundabout in the path of a bus! lucky for me their tyres werent shocking as they were able to stop pretty quicky. I dont understand people commenting here who are saying they are as good as michelins or pirreli's.... which ones? you clearly dont corner with any conviction. My Golf R is fitted with Michelin Pilot Sport 4s all round and its different car than when it had continentals! A few weeks ago a BMW M4 couldnt keep up with me through the corners of a windy A-road (got absolutely smashed when the road straightened up though) but the Audi TT Quattro I have at the moment (a car that isnt missing mechanical grip) understeered at 20 mph! These tyres are a disgrace at any price. You get what you pay for here, £150 for a tyre made in France from the company that supplies the World Endurance Championship (think Le Mans 24Hr) or £50 for a tyre made from recycled plastic in China, a country that didnt have the technical prowess to manufacture ball bearings small enough to fit Biro pens until the turn of the century. Your tyres are the only thing connecting you to the road, its almost unfathomable that someone would put their own safety at risk, if you have a family you probably need to reassess your life. Enjoy the shocking tyres, ill see you in the ditch!
