BMW 330d M Sport Tyres

I have had three sets of these tyres. One set on a BMW 120d on 18" alloys and two sets on a BMW 330d on 18" alloys. On the whole they are an excellent tyre which is very good value for money. However I had already decided not to buy another set (even before knowing about this site) because of the road noise at slow speeds. I see that one of the other reviewers has also mentioned this. My experience is exactly the same - the road noise at these low speeds is so bad that you think a wheel bearing has gone. I had the wheel bearings tested and then even paid over £200 for a full 4 wheel alignment because I was convinced there was something wrong with the car.
I also had some similar problems with balancing of the tyres and them losing their shape.

Had these on a BME 330D M Sport in RFT guise.

They really are 2 tyres in one: When they're new they're relatively quiet and the ride isn't that bad. As they wear though everything changes.

After 14K miles or so (with 5mm of tread left, so not anywhere near the limit) the tyre noise becomes really noticeable and the ride quality drops off a cliff. Tramlining doesn't even begin to describe it - they seem to actively seek out ruts in the road and drag the car into them.

Avoid - there are better options.

If you like noisy, hard, expensive tyres which cost the earth & shatter a vertebrae with every bump in the road, buy these and you wont be disappointed! :-)

For me, grip is not all that, especially in the wet, and if there was more of a choice over and above the 2 or 3 tyre types I can use would look to change them like a shot!
