Ford FG Falcon XR6 Turbo Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S given 74% (245-35-19-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 32000 spirited miles
I had michelin ps4 before 245 40 18 and switched to 245 35 19 ps4s. Obviously going from 18s to 19s is going to affect ride quality. I found the PS4 excellent in the wet especially in real heavy rain in the dry they were good and wear was good ride a little firm. The ps4s the grip in the dry and steering response is excellent. In the wet they grip up to a point then brake away I definitely preferred the PS4 in the wet they were great on the limit in the wet. The ride on the ps4s is hard and they are really noisy on coarse bitumen I mean really noisy.

Thought these would be the ants pants for my car , really dissapointed in dry grip even with a warm up..it's only a 360rwkw fg xr6 turbo so it's not a real lot of power but destroys these tyres..won't buy again

Driving on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
Wanted to try these to replace my Bridgestone RE003 on my Ford Falcon (385rwkw). Like night an day in the dry. The v720 were awesome, I love them and want to fly around tight bends. They are not noise at all, and fine for normal driving in wet, and wet braking is excellent.
Straight line traction while accelerating is better than RE003 especially when warmed up. I have not tested them on the track, but for extreme street driving can't beat them (especially when you consider price). Going around tight bends I am now at my suspension limits not my tyres limits as I was with the RE003. Will by again.

I fell for the hype and changed to these after using Michelin Pilot Super Sports for my last 3 sets.
The Pilot Sport 4:
Grip the same,
Are alot more quiet,
Are more comfortabele,
Has a much softer sidewall,
Are rubbish at hard cornering or any aggressive driving,
Has next to no feedback,
Seem to wear slightly better,
Overall they feel like you're driving on really sticky gym balls, even when pumped up to 48psi.
Will definately be going back to the Pilot Super Sport.

Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
Had these on my FG XR6 turbo falcon for about one year now. When I changed from Yokaham s-drive to Conti MC5, it decreased road noise by half. Probably my tyre of choice in the 18 inch rim. I had the same confidence with wet/dry grip as I did with the Yokahamas but with half the road noise in the cabin. Long road trips on Australian coarse chip road were not an issue for the family with the Conti MX5's on. Sold the car now, so not sure on wear, but would have expected it to make 45,000 to 50,000km's

Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 spirited miles
Utterly Dreadful!!! Dry performance very substandard. Wet performance, non existent. Not sure if I got lemons, and I have read about bad batches but these tyres trully are appalling. I had these on the fronts when I bought the car at about 80-90% tread and Nexen's 6000's on the back and well, I thought the Nexen's were bad. Once they were chewed the Achillies went on the back and after a few thousand k's these are gone to. My car has kicked sidways changing into 4th gear at 100+ km/h in the wet, seriously should these tyres even be legal? All appropriate wheel ailments done and as my ride is stock at the moment (about 360hp),with a lot more hp to come, these things are a death wish. A FWD with less horses under the bonnet you may be ok but if your serious about driveing steer well clear of these suckers. Sorry for the long winded review just felt I had worn others and believe me, in the wet, this review may save your ride and hell, maybe even your life!
