Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Excellent tyre in any conditions. Road noise is greatly reduced compared with the Michelin Primacy tyres that came as originals with the car. The Goodyear Excellence tyres are more comfortable and have better lateral control on uneven road surfaces compared with the Michelin Primacy tyres. The Goodyear Excellent tyres has much better wet road grip than the Michelin Primacy and on the limit grip is superb. Whereas the Michelin's would squeal and lose traction on a roundabout the Goodyear Excellence tyres would carry a few more mph and still hold a tight line without making any such noise. Overall it is first class tyre and one I would highly recommend, especially for a Ford Focus which is somewhat sensitive to tyres and road noise.

Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 spirited miles
2009 I bought these to drive out to the Alps for a skiing holiday, as I understand they are a legal requirement in the area we were going to.
They were exellent. The grip in both loose and packed snow was unbelievable, but they also turned out to be much much better than ordinary Michelin Pilot's in normal British rain and damp as well. Under braking they stop Meters shorter and on corners they grip very well and broke away progressively. In the dry they are fine in normal driving but do not have the absolute grip and turn in of a high performance summer tyre. They may be a bit noisier, but not enough to be sure. However as soon as there is a shower of rain they are noticably better than "normal" tyres - and I do more driving in the wet than I do on empty dry tarmac. They do not seem to wear any faster than normal either - 10,000 miles, fronts half down and rears "as new".I think that is pretty good...
One superb incident when I left the handbrake on one morning as I drove off on packed snow. The fronts just gripped and we moved off with the (standard) rears locked. I didn't even notice until the back end started waving about as I slowed down for the first bend! Unbelievable. Highly recommended for all year round British driving.

Writing about the Avon ZV5 given 85% (205-55-16-R)
Driving on mostly country roads for 0 spirited miles
The Eagle F1s I had on the Focus 2.0L just wore down too low for comfort when the weather was very wet, so needed some new tyres urgently. The Avon ZV5s were available along with some Pirelli & other tyres of good pedigree. Read the reviews & decided to give the Avons a go, replacing all four tyres. Really glad that I did. The wet grip is amazing - better that the Eagles, & they were pretty good when the tread was full. Dry grip seems OK too, but we haven't had a lot of dry weather of late so can't be 100% sure. These will be my tyre of choise in future.

A decent all-round tyre on the Focus. Wet grip is definitely better than dry grip. It's quite easy to slide the tail-end of the Focus on a roundabout on the Conti's, but the feedback through the steering lets you know what's going on in plenty of time.

The tyres are very comfortable for fast road/motorway driving, but give a harsher ride around town. This could also be due to the sports-suspension set-up on the Focus though, and not a fault of the Continentals.

Reasonably priced at Blackcircles.com, the Conti Sport Contact 2 is a decent product, as a fair price. I would like them to offer a little more dry grip, but lets face it, living in the UK, wet grip gets tested far more often!

These tyres were OEM on my Focus Estate and my car will be three years old in October 2010. I'm really impressed with these tyres they have done 30k and are still legal (just), but equally impressive is that they still run true. No wandering or vague feelings that I've had on other tyres of a similar wear. They are a tad noisy at high speed though, but that may also be attributable to my car, just the basic "1.6 Style" model. I'm about to have P7 replacements fitted next week.

These tyres were fantastic in the wet and snow! never doubted them for a minute. In the dry they are not bad, but i have driven on other tryes, such as Continentals which inspire more confidence to really push on through the twisty bits. having read alot of reviews i'm off to try some Yokohama C drive, no doubt they will be worn out by the winter, so can then pick another wet weather tyre!

Good touring tyre. Dry grip pretty good and good ride quality. Wet grip average but poor in very cold damp conditions. Tyre noise low.
