After much research, I decided to buy the Goodyears for the front of my S-Max with the intention of running them year-round. We have a house in the Alps and I was a little anxious that they wouldn't match the performance of the all-out winter tyres that I had on a previous car. I needn't have worried: in the Alps over the Christmas holiday they were superb - never once had to resort to chains, despite often difficult conditions, and I reckon them very close to the snow performance of the tyres I used to have (also Goodyears - Ultragrip 7+), but hoping they'll be less compromised when it comes to summer use. Strongly recommended!

Has transformed the handling of my s max in temperatures less than 7 degrees, particularly in snow, in addition aquaplanes much less than normal summer tyre when passing through standing water. Outstanding .

Fitted at the start of the mildest winter in recent years these tyres have had a grand total of 2 days of snowy driving. They were spot on in the snow, very predictable and confidence inspiring in slippy conditions. They've done around 3,700 miles commuting between city streets and rural driving and have proved faultless. More comfortable than the Kumho's they replace and more predictable in the rain I can't fault them. Not sure about wear yet, I'd be surprised if I get more than 15,000 miles from them. For £60 each from mytyres.com I can't complain.

Have gone through 3 sets of Sport Contact 2 fitted to 2.0 TDCi S-Max since I had the car - 4 years c55k miles. Driveability and feel is excellent. Confidence is good, but I don't drive hard. Ride is firm, which I put down to 18" 235/45 profiles, especially on rough surfaces, concrete on ie. motorways & A/B roads. Tyre noise is OK for the amount of rubber on the road. Tyre life is the issue. Previous fronts did 13k miles before the middle hit the minimum tread level. Still 4m on either edge. I ran them at 38psi as recommended. Had tracking checked and minor adjustment and decided to run next set at 32psi. Ride less firm, response not as crisp, but have lasted 17k miles and now on the minimim but even across the whole width. Quote now for SC2 is near ?200 per tyre. Have decided to give Uniroyal Rainsport 2 a go, at ?150 per tyre since these have very favourable reviews at tyrereviews.co.uk.

Just about to buy my second set of these tyres, I do 30,000 miles a year all road types and these have been as good as the big money tyres on even wear and the best mileage from any brand I`ve had on this my second S-Max (Bridgestone/Michelin/Avon).Four tyres for £320, can`t even put two brand name tyres on for that. The current front two Acceleras have lasted 22,000 miles. The worst tyre brand lasted 11,000 on the front. I have no undue concern with these tyres in the wet, they all scrabble for grip sometimes in the wet. They have handled the local profusion of speed bumps without uneven wear and were good in the snow too.
