Have had these for a few weeks now on my old MX5 so can't comment on wear, but as for the rest...
In normal cold-weather conditions they're perfectly good; not the last word in grip (which is more fun anyway) but they work well enough and much better than the Bridgestone ER30s I had on before. In the wet they seem almost better than the dry; probably perception but they certainly hang on very well.
This morning, however, I had to clear three inches of snow off the top of the car, and drive three miles to the train station on compacted snow, ice, and slushy roads. I feel that winter tyres are there to give you a greater margin of error at all times, but after a bit I just drove normally: they were disturbingly good. I even pulled into a carpark of compacted snow for some "scientific grip testing" and had to really provoke them into sliding... truly impressive.

Went to the T1R (215 40 17) from Bridgestone Potenza on an MX5. What a difference! The T1R has all the positive aspects of the Potenza PLUS a very smooth and comfortable ride. Gone is the shock and jar over anything except very smooth tarmac, gone is the distinctive road noise and gone is the overpricing. An excellent swap and one I warmly recommend.

Put them on a few weeks ago as winter tyres. On snow/ice etc have only driven cautiously, but able to pull away up slight slope on ice, and felt far more confident than on the summer tyres, but not as confident as our 1.4 golf which has all-weather tyres. To be fair I haven't yet had the nerve to try practising too much on snow in the mx5 - not enough ground clearance! (we lost part of the undershield on the Golf last month)
Damp, greasy roads - phenomenal, I can drive as if on a dry road. Even wet white lines don't seem to phase these tytres.
Seem quieter/more supple than the summer tyres.

Bought them last summer 08/2008 and since then have made app. 5.000km. The tyres have a very good grip on dry and wet roads specially for my mx5 (rear drive). They are not so loud like the early F1 models (my friend got on his Seat Ibiza). Good aquaplaning reserves and good drifting reserve as well. 10/10 points for grip on highway and steering response. Definatley would buy again. Superb tyre for country roads and highway. Cheers

The Michelin's were on the car when purchased in July 2006. March 2010 I have now done almost 50,000 klms - so obviously I am very pleased with these tyres. I now need to replace all 4 tyres & am thinking about reduced road noise. I have phoned around & done review searches on the internet & I am fast coming to the conclusion that I should stay with these Michelin's because I can not fault them at all & an MX5 tends to have that road noise anyway. The only time I need to be careful in the wet is at high speed in heavy storms hitting sheets of water flowing across the road - even in this situation the tyres & handling have never come close to losing control.

A very good all rounded tyre for all seasons and occasions. Definitely would buy again if there was on the market.
