Mercedes Benz ML Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Nexen Roadian HT given 57% (255-55-19-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 1200 average miles
These tyres are the worst in the world for picking up gravel in their treads and then ticking along as you drive till you have to stop and pick the treads clean. before you get driven mad. I did go off road and punctured the side wall on a rock, when the garage replaced the tyre they were surprised on how thin and flexible the side wall of the tyre was. When I bought my mercedes ml500 these were fitted all round at about £86 a tyre. Cheap and legal but utter rubbish. DO NOT BUY NEXEN TYRES for your 4x4. Now i look to see what tyres cars have before anything and if it's shod in cheap tat I presume the car has been run on a shoestring and would not entertain even contemplating buying it.

Only had me ZX7 since Christmas Eve 2022 but I was presently surprised after me old 10year Conti were done for,Not mileage Or wear and tear but by date. Avon at almost a 50% saving I could believe the exceptional children comfort Or was it old tyre fatigue? Not at all I recall the Conti New don't have the comfort of AVON ZX7s. On the wet they are so good It almost makes you to assured cornering at speed. I hope to update in time as the Mileage increases.

I have these on my Mercedes SUV. Best winter tire I have ever bought. Great on dry roads, fabulous on snow and ice. They grab the road no matter what the condition is. Tread wear is excellent.

Writing about the Continental CrossContact ATR given 100% (265-45-20-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
The best 4x4 suv tyre I have ever had the pleasure to own, amazing grip in both wet and dry conditions, other cars were aquaplaning recently and this just charged straight through the standing water at 70mph, had solid ice on a gradient (-10 degrees centigrade) and it ploughed straight up the hill in my Mercedes ML, they look the part too with their really good looking tread pattern and sidewall wedges design. The 70/30 mix (70% On road / 30% off-road) ratio means I can leave these tyres on all year round so the massive outlay on them isn't so massive after all. If you can afford them, buy them, your motor deserves the best, you and your safety is paramount so don't be a cheapskate, buy the Continental Cross Contact ATR tyres, replace all 4 tyres with these and rest in the knowledge you have the best tyres available for any SUV/4x4 bar none!

Driving on a combination of roads for 12 spirited miles
I run all 4 corners with these on my Mercedes 2007 ML63 AMG . First these tires are great lookers. Best looking tire in that size range for SUVs. With 500hp+ I have no problem out running most 2 seaters on a curvy road. I only get about 12k miles or so on them but I absolutely love them. I just chalk them up to my entertainment expense!

Writing about the Yokohama Geolandar X CV G057 given 79% (295-35-21-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 10000 average miles
In the bi-turbo ML63 the G057 is conformable and adapts well to bumpy tracks and long journeys, it is better on wet tracks than the PZERO. For high performance on smooth tracks, PZERO is superior.

Driving on mostly town for 300 easy going miles
Stay clear of this brand. Bought 4 of these tyres for my car and learnt a costly mistake. Tyres were out of shape and they also ran out laterally which caused the car to shake terribly at 100kmh.

Driving on mostly motorways for 17000 average miles
Full set fitted 18 months ago, 17000 miles completed, will need full set for MOT. No issues with the tyres other than, expected more miles from them especially when most miles are motorway driving.

Driving on a combination of roads for 40000 average miles
I'm on my second set of these and they are good in the dry and wet, but they don't shine in the snow and ice. They get you through winter, though.Wear is good, they lasted 45k km, which in my experience with the ML is very good. Comfort is ok, noise is minimal. I will stick to them because it's the only premium tyre that won't break the bank that I find on my size.

Best winter tires I have had on an SUV. Handle all winter conditions, especially harsh ones, with ease. Very confidence inspiring in slush.

On a heavy car these tyres have been great. Not even half worn yet. Never got stuck on light off road use and in the snow were great. I have towed a lot so have rotated the tyres. Very pleased. If you don't feel these tyres handle well them I think you are trying to use a 4x4 for something it is not intended for. They are aimed at SUV's not sports cars.
