Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
I have had several makes of tyre on the Clio cup before i bought the Rainsport 2, none came even close to the grip of the uniroyals in the wet or the dry plus i ran the fronts for nearly 15,000 miles, thats 4000 more than any other make. the rears covered almost 28,000 miles. Incredible tyre. I now have them on 2 of my other cars, including a Skoda Superb Taxi which ran 12,000 at the front, thats 1500 more than the standard tyres. I wish they did them for motorbikes.

Just put these on my Clio 172 and they're phenomenal for the price (?89 for fitted pair - bestbuytyres.co.uk). Massively better than existing P600s.

Been wet here (as in rest of UK) for last few weeks and my old, terrible (although pretty worn) tyres gave very low confidence at roundabouts (etc.) and often, severe understeer as well (you couldn't really get oversteer, as the front didn't bite enough to provide confidence to corner at the speed the car is capable of). The RS2s however were great as soon as they were on and warm! Apparently no real need to scrub in - or, amazingly, more grip will be produced when they do... So good, that the old P600s at the back now produce oversteer at roundabouts (i.e. the front grips, the back doesn't.

Pros: Wet grip phenomenal (dry seems fine as well - but will review again after 500 miles or so); comfort fine; price.

Cons: Driving everywhere 10/15 mph faster and cornering like a hooligan --> 1: I'm using more petrol! 2: More or less controlled oversteer. 3: Will need to buy a pair for the back - where's that piggy bank?

Well where do I start... After weeks of searching for a decent tyre I finally plunged for these. £56ea fitted through black circles. A couple of weeks in and WOW! I do drive my car hard and every thing I thrown at it with the new tyres it's taken and responded much better than the Mich'es I had on before. If you want a tyre you can trust in the rain and brill grip in the dry then give these a whirl!!! For the money you can't complain... FAB!

Everybody has a differant opinion on tyres, i've had this cup for 5 yrs and have tried vriedsteins, continentals, uniroyals, yokhamas and michelins and to be honest i find some of the reviews a little hard to believe. Take the uniroyal rainsports - yes they do grip well but they give the car a twitchy moving feel due to the softer rubber compound and i personally don't like the feel when cornering. The vried's and conti's were pretty much on a par - ok but wore quickly , the michelins are very good but pricey. The best i've found all round are the yoko's i went to the nurburgring and ran a set of semi slick pirelli's they were cained by the end of the day and i did a last lap with the yoko's i'd driven to germany on and they were only 15 seconds slower and they lasted another 9000 miles on the fronts and the rears are still on and going strong, not to mention they are half the price of the exalto's . as for road noise - it's a cup you can just about hear the radio on full blast and comfort depends on the springing in your springs and damper set up. Best advice is try a couple of brands and untill you find something that gives you confidence - or go straight to the exalto's but don't moan about the cost

Most of my experience of these tyres so far has been on damp to very wet roads and they grip superbly. Most of the miles so far have been a mixture of fast country road driving and dual carriage way. In the wet they are super and in my experience so far just keep on gripping. They give great feed back and let you know when they are starting to near the edge of their grip, unlike my last front tyres that had a habit of just 'letting go' with no warning.

In the dry they have been great as well. We good levels of grip. i will come back and review them again when i have done a few thousand miles on these.

Dry grip considerably greater than wet, plenty of feedback and progression allows you to back off in plenty of time. So handling is predictable if not special, they are mid range after all.

Fronts are barely legal after approx. 8000 miles, comprised of spirited back road sprints, and some dual carriageway punishment, also used for ~2-3 mile commute through town which is very gentle usage. 1 recent 'track day' on a poor surface removed what little tread was left on the fronts. They seem to cope with a bit of standing water even with no tread, probably helped by my choice of 5-10% extra PSI.

Ride is a little too firm, although a combination of slight overinflation, low profile of the tyres and stiff(ish) suspension will assure that on any tyre. Coped well with snow when nearly new earlier this year, helped by my godlike driving no doubt. ;p

I'm going down to 15" wheels as tyres are cheaper and standard wheels/tyres for my car are that size. They will be 195/50/15 and I may choose these again on a price over performance basis as they will be predictable anyway.

Have had these on my Renault Clio Sport 172 for a couple of years. Very pleased in general. Excellent dry grip. Great combination for the Clio's go-kart like cornering abilities. Also, don't get the tramlining I've had with other tyres. Haven't really ever 'tested'them in the wet. On the down side, they haven't worn that well - the inside and outside edges both wore down before the middle, so had to replace them early but may not be the tyre's fault. I am putting the same ones on again, mainly because I feel confident about their cornering and stopping ability, so why risk something different?

These tyres replaced the mixed bag of tyres that I had on my car. I had bought the car with new Triangle front tyres and rear michelins one of which even after 51000 miles was probably original :(. So any set of 4 tyres was likely to be an improvement!

I was initially dissapointed in these tyres as I felt that I wasn't gaining much in the way of grip, wet or dry. However this was just to do with the running in period. They do require a decent scrub! I then found that the car suffered from far less understeer in both the wet and dry and if pushed to the limit became extremely talkative however there was a dead point around the lower limits which initially was a little unnerving but this was soon tackled by a bit of bravery! On a B road blast I found that even though the car is FWD it was pivoting around the middle and felt so alive and willing to be pushed. I can guarantee that this is down to the tyres rather than the car as I had been on the same road a week before fitting these tyres pushing just as hard without the same results.

I'm rating these at about 70% because I feel they could have more in the way of progressiveness, wet grip and communication. However for £170 fitted I couldn't really ever see past them.

P.S They so far have been excellent in the snow!

Driving a fwd 182 i am just about to replace these tyres after about 10000 miles - they are fine down the centre but totally bald from outer edges to about 2.5 inches in. I've had a few wheelspin moments when pulling away in 1st in the dry but generally they have given me confidence in all weathers to go tearing round the corners. Overall id say good if your happy to replace every year / 8000 miles.
