Renault Clio DCi 80 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Pirelli P6000 given 33% (185-55-15-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 easy going miles
Unfortunately I bought the car with 2 x P6000s on the rear, after having a previous experience with these tyres I knew how bad they were but they still had about 1mm before they'd get to the legal limit wear markers so I decided to leave them on till the end of their life which was approximately just over 3,000 miles, I would guess from that, that they should last in the region of 20-30,000 miles on the motorway on the rear of a small front engined, front wheel drive car, so nothing amazingly special about their wear rate.

In the dry, these tyres are distinctly average, road feedback is okay and grip is okay but definitely not confidence inspiring, I can't comment on road noise as my little diesel is quite noisy.

In the wet is when these tyres should be banned from being on the road, they are so poor I can't begin to describe, I have never known of a front engine front wheel drive cars rear end to spin out so erratically and without warning when it's wet, I've always expected understeer when cornering but never uncontrollable oversteer which happened on atleast 5 occasions in the past 3,000 miles. It made me make my already pretty easy driving even more laid back.

I can't believe they're advertised as midranged tyres when they perform like budget tyres.

Personally I won't go anywhere near these tyres again, or any Pirelli's for that matter.
