Bought these as a replacement for Continental Sport Contact 2's. Heard they were good so thought I'd give them a try. First impressions after driving out of the tyre fitters were 'Where's the noise gone?!?'. These tyres are so fantastically quiet it is almost untrue. On freshly laid tarmac it is almost as if there is no tyre noise whatsoever.

Dry handling: After a bit of wearing in, I decided to give the grip a go, firstly in the dry. The first thing I noticed was hardly no tyre squeal near the grip limit. Also, these tyres find it very hard to let go in the dry. Almost unheard of grip for a family saloon, so much so that I can out corner the good lady's Celica VVTi with these tyres! The nearest I've come to this level of grip before was in an MG ZS I used to own that had Michelin Pilot Sports on at ?130 a corner. I bet the Turanza would be a worthy opponent.

Wet handling: One word 'grippy'. The continental's of old seemed to be more sports oriented, in that the ride was noisier and more harsh. It seems the Turanza's offer even more grip whilst somehow making less noise and less harshness. If you really push in the wet you will slide with power on, but you really can tell when it's going to happen and also you wont believe how fast you are going when it finally does lose traction. Fantastic in the wet for sure.

Wear: Hmm. Not so good. It seems that with all this traction, lack of road noise and smooth ride somewhat kills the life of the tyre. 10k has passed and very close to legal limit, maybe get to 12k before they lose grip and need replacing. My driving includes alot of town driving, tyre killing roundabouts and alot of welsh mountain roads at not so slow speed (should the need arise). I am not put off by the wear though as I would much rather pay for tyres that will ultimately save your life through grip if the need arises. I will definitely buy these again.
Braking: Three words - Really darn good. Laguna's have fantastic brakes regardless, but with these tyres I can report something bizarre.
Picture the scene - A long motorway hill in north wales with exit at the bottom, no anti-slip tarmac measures. Motorway is dead hence so is the off-slip. I think' lets really try the brakes!' With that, I absolutely stamp on the middle pedal at 70mph. This is what I cannot believe; the road was damp, not wet, but visibly damp. Steering wheel stayed perfectly straight and the ABS didnt even kick in, I just hauled to a stop in almost record breaking distance. I pulled off again chuckling away at how these tyres just refused to lose grip and let the ABS do it's thing.
Well done Bridgestone - I will keep buying these tyres as long as you keep making them. Can I recommend them for your car? I don't know as every car's geometry is different - But if you drive a Phase II Laguna DCi, you will not be disppointed!

Driving on mostly country roads for 1500 average miles
I drive a 1.8 16v 02 Laguna and have found these tyres to be an excellent purchase. I replaced all four corners at same time for a cost of ?239 bought vea ebay and fitted for free as I have a mate that was kind enough to fit them at his garage. I am a partially sporty driver and I do many twisting and winding Scottish roads and every now and then I go in to a corner a bit fast but tyres give good feedback and inspire confidence. The tyres I got are XL extra load ones which was recommended by people on Renault forums to help protect rather soft 17" alloys, and did firm up ride a very small bit but made for a sharper cornering, and allow me to haul grater weights safely.
I found tyre pressure made a big difference but I now have 33PSI front and 30PSI rear and this works well for me.
I like how this tyre was developed in the UK, they cut though wet roads well, road noise is very low after 500 ml run in esp on motor way and good road surface, some rim protection and look nice, all in all very good value for money.
A happy driver.

Bought these based on the features listed on the Silverstone website. I drive a Laguna and wanted a quiet comfortable tyre. That's what I got. These are MUCH quieter and MUCH more comfortable than the Kumho they replaced. I found grip to be good in both dry and wet, but I haven't been rallying! If you're a boy racer you wont want these tyres. Thry're quite spongy while cornering and lack a little feedback which the Kumho were good for. They are however quietest most comfortable tyres I've ever bought. If it's luxury you want, buy with confidence. If it's sport you want, look else where. I scored the wear based on the compount carachteristics but I've only driven about 1k so far.
