Read and read about tyres - concerned about replacing michelin pilot premacys with a cheaper brand. I am so pleased I chose this tyre. Car feels so much better than before - I think the Falkens suit the high psi on my front axle (40psi)very well, they are comfortable and there is at least 30% more grip in the wet than the Micelins - tyre looks good with aggressive centre section pattern. Would highly recommend.

Having just sold my Megane 1.9 dci after six and a half years at 124k shod with Michelin Pilots (previously Michelin something else when new) I can recommend Michelin until the cows come home.

They were original fit and suited the car well. For 18k I tried a recommended Goodyear for wet grip to do long drives from the Midlands to Cornwall but they only lasted 18k and were rubbish after 12k so back to Michelins and better economy (45-47mpg and 51-55mpg ona run).
Figures; 1st set all went at 40k with one puncture. 2nd set 58k on Goodyear's, 3rd set 88k with one replaced due to blade in sidewall near tread, sold on 4th set with one replaced at 122k due to bent rim and pothole.

All in all a good tyre and economical for high mileage users since you get about 5% more with Michelin and a little bit on top with nitrogen fill. I rebalanced wheels every 18k service and never needed to swop wheels.

I'm just working out savings over 2 x Ceat and 2 x Dunlops rear on a Fiat Multipla 1.9jtd. If you calculate fuel at £1.20/litre (£5.49/gallon) x 30,000 miles at 36mpg (currently) that's 833 gallons @15.25p/mile. With an average of 5% better fuel consumption if you check pressures weekly and rebalance every service that's 1500 miles extra @15.25p = £228.75. If you pay £85.00 per tyre at Kwik-Fit for Michelins fully fitted and tracked with nitrogen etc. instead of £50.00 for cheap that is £140 extra for 4 Michelins saving £78.75 per set or £19.69 per tyre together with the safety and environmental bonuses.

Only decision now is whether I can afford a set of anything at the moment!

These tyres are great for road handling, grip and motorway driving. The only problem is the performance on bumpy roads where they are very twitchy.
Recently had to emergency stop from 45mph because of deer running on to the road and the tyres performed remarkably!
Feedback from the road is very very good (perhaps too good); poor road surfaces lead to an uncomfy journey.

Put these on after F1 GSD3 I think that the dry handling was a bit better but wet handling was slightly less than GSD3's. Also found that to get the best handling out of them the pressures needing tweaking, so dropped them to 32psi on front and 30psi on back. I found this a great help as recommended pressures were 34,31. I did this as the asymmetrics are a harder tyre and found that under extreme breaking the back end tried to step out.

Came as original on the Megane, used it for 62K Kilometers. Very good grip and feedback, wet or dry, on the beggining. After half-life, the wet grip is not so good and seems easy to aquaplanning. Changed for 4 new P7's from Pirelli, decision was based on specs vs. cost.
