Writing about the Bridgestone Turanza ER300 Ecopia given 83% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
Slight soft, with almost No noise at all, good braking and in acceleration.
I 'd prefer it little "harder" in the road.

I was advised by my trusted fitter (35 years in the trade) that Autogrip tyres are good middle of the road tyres. I fitted them to a 2007 SEAT Leon 1.6. They are made in China in the same factory that manufactures Continental tyres. Just google it and you will see this. The Autogrip's performed better than my first set Pirelli P7's. These things also outperformed Bridgestone Turanza's.I honestly think these tyres represent outstanding value for money. I paid £220 for 4 tyres fitted named tyres you can add another £100 at least. My tyre fitter runs a fast 2006 BMW 3 series and he fits these to it. That's good enough for me. Be wary of bad reports here and elsewhere - many people tend to trash makes they have never heard of or haven't used in the past. FACT - Most top of the tree (Dunlop, Michelin, Bridgestone, Avon etc.. are made in China too).

Writing about the Toyo Proxes CF1 given 47% (205-55-16-V)
Driving on mostly motorways for 18500 easy going miles
They seemed to grip better on wet rather than dry. They really question your self-confidence at high speeds. quite soft; quickly worn out. if you keep them for longer than 2 years you will feel the reduction in performance in comparison to the new ones. taking long to warm up , even in my sunny country - Greece. Generally they magnify the car's disadvantages. If pressured in tight turns you can't help understeering and when they finally get some traction, they make the car act nervously.
