Bought my car when it was 2 years, 11 Months old and about 25k miles, the tyres had never been rotated, so got the garage to swap them round at the time I bought it.
Living in Jersey, only do short runs and max speed of 40mph,getting nearly 40mpg over here which I think is great.
Have not done much motorway milage with this, but all seemed fine when I had a w/e to from Weymouth to London and back about 3 months ago.
Lost grip only twice in Jersey coming out of junction in raid, but kwen if was losing grip,so so the power off!
Now done over 28k miles and front 2 tyres still good.
Back 2 need replacing soon.
What to do? Do I get 2 new Michelin's @ £64 each(none in stock!)or get 2 Barum 2's @ £46 each?
I like both brands - I have Barum's on my wife's Honda Jazz and these are fine, but a bit noisey, but don't know which!!
eek

Only had these on for approx 1000 miles, but so far I'm happy with them.
As you'd expect (and hope) from a tyre called "Rain Expert" they have been very good in the recent summer downpours.
They are also much quieter and smoother riding than the Bridgestones they replaced. So if, as I was, you're looking for a tyre biased more towards comfort/refinement than handing and ultimate grip, I'd recommend them.

Great tyre, can be a little noisy but the best in their price range by far.

Reaqing reviews to judge the next purchase is difficult. I have had these SP 01;s on since new and they've done just over 30K, and need changing soon. My car is a heavy diesel FWD and the tyres have been rotated, but IMHO getting 30K out of a set of tyres when I tend not to drive to slowly is not to bad. Alternatives I was considering all appear to wear out around 20K such as the Kuhmo KU31's, whats the point of buying cheaper if they last 50% less?. These tyres will take me safely across the uk and back in a day, from suffolk, I can drive in all weathers with no concerns over cornering and road conditions, I find no concern in the wet or dry. Will buy again cos spending £400 on a new set of tyres only to find you don't like em is not my idea of fun.....

well balanced performance vs wear. Tremendous longevity even on a heavy, 200BHP 4 wheel drive.

I bought 2 of these for the front of my car during the heavy snow in December 2009, I chose them as they have a huge chunky tread pattern and they were £60 fitted (each) at a local garage. They transformed my torquey 2.0 diesel Octavia from a side slewing moron into a driveable car again, for the money at the time, they were perfect. 6 months and 8000 miles later they are lasting very well, its not the most dynamic tyre I've ever used and don't handle particularly well on country roads during 'spirited' drives, but the soft sidewalls are comfortable on long runs and with over 6mm of tread remaining I am looking at around 25,000 out of them on the front. Happy to buy these again.

A little bit noisy tyre in my opinion..Bud very good in winter conditions (snow and heavy rain). Good wet and dry grip (traction)
