Volkswagen Golf Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Nokian WR A3 given 100% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 3000 average miles
Replaced a set of Nokian WRg2 with these, very similar but slightly better in every way.

Writing about the Michelin Energy given 100% (195-65-15-H)
Driving on a combination of roads for 49 average miles
Michelin Energy tyres were fitted as manufacturer's original equipment to my 2007 Volkswagen Golf 1.6 fsi. They have lasted just under 49,000 miles and had 3mm tread left on the front driving wheels and 4mm left on the rear wheels. They had never even had a puncture until yesterday.I am replacing all 4 today with the latest Michelin Energy Saver + at £73 a corner from North Eastern Tyres which is excellent value if they last as well as the originals.Another 2007 Golf in my family which had been fitted with Continentals is now on its third set of tyres over less mileage.

Writing about the Vredestein Snowtrac 3 given 100% (195-65-15-T)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
This tyre is very well...highly recomended. I'm driving it on vw golf mk5 1.4 80hp. driven on all types of road, dry, wet, icy, powder, fresh snow, ice and snow, -17C in winter condition. tyre gives very good feedback on the snowy road. So far the wear rating is on maximum cuz i have only 1000km with them. HIGHLY RECOMENDED...

Writing about the Continental AllSeasonContact given 97% (195-65-15-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
After driving "crossclimate" and "4seasonG" can confirm that this tire combines characteristics of Michelina and Goodyear.
In my car before the all year tires I had a continental summer and a special winter set.
It is not true that it is actually winter.
quite different in the summer than winter tires eg TS-830.
The feel of the steering wheel is better than that of Michelin and Goodyear.
The tire has a great traction on the snow and lateral stance as opposed to the trembling crossclimate.
Goodyear is more comfortable and quiet, the rest is about the same.
Continental, however, keeps the dry road better than goodyear.

Writing about the Dunlop Sport BluResponse given 97% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 4800 spirited miles
best tyres i ve ever had in this size. only flaw is that the sidewalls are a bit soft. You will notice this with high speed tight cornering.
These tyres are very, very quiet, still look new after 7.000 km.
Excellent grip in wet and dry. they feel very safe.

Writing about the Dunlop SP Sport Fast Response given 96% (205-55-16-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 4300 average miles
Excellent grip even in hard cornering, excellent handling and braking even in wet, quiet but pretty hard, this is a reference tyre, don't know about fuel economy though

Writing about the Michelin Alpin A4 given 94% (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 621 average miles
hey, I have them, they are really good, I tested them a little and they passed the test very nice...last year I had also Alpin 4 (the old generation ) and I can feel the difference. I don't care too much about noise, comfort or fuel economy on winter, I put more accent on braking performances, on traction, on stability, on saving me and my car from disaster in case.
