Driving on a combination of roads for 18000 spirited miles
I have to say after having these tyres and running for 18k miles on them, my friend, a tyre specialist suggested I replace them with just over 2mm left on the front ones, the rear ones hardly looked used, having 5-6mm on them! Sounds like not a lot I changed them for Goodyear Eagles. Boy did I regret that, I should haave stayed with the ST2's. I have had close shaves in braaking on the ST2's and you know they are good when the ABS doesn't kick in and the tyres actually stop the car. This wasn't the case on the eagles with the same weather and road conditions.... Get these tyres, they are superb in the wet/dry and are budget price for a superb tyre. I have even had my auto (without traction control) pull in the snow with little hassle. From a company who make the space savers for 911 porsches, yes, you will trust them now.....

Driving on mostly country roads for 0 spirited miles
Definitly good tires, but I had Tyfoon succesor 2 before, and CSC3 are miles ahead on handling and road feedback.
My biggest concern is the wear, as these tires are expensive, but at this time I would have to say, I would definitly but these again.

Writing about the Continental Sport Contact 2 given 83% (225-45-17-W)
Driving on mostly country roads for 8000 spirited miles
Bought these secondhand and fitted to wider than standard wheels.
They are great tyres, the best allround I have had fitted to this car. (Rainsport, P6000, SportContact, Falken) The grip wet and dry is more than enough to cope with the 280 odd bhp. They provide good feedback and comfort. Bit noisy on rough surfaces and concrete but otherwise very acceptable. The fronts wear quickly but this is more down to the car as the rears are barely touched after 8000+ miles.
Overall a very good tyre and thoroughly recommended.

Writing about the Falken FK452 given 70% (205-50-16-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 4000 spirited miles
Falken 452's are an entry level wet sport tire with unbeatable value for money. I've used them on a number of vehicles (currently on my Volvo 850 T5 225bhp) they offer satisfactory grip in dry conditions and very good wet weather grip. They provide good road feedback at lower speeds and satisfactory road communictation at high speed. However, at very high speed they tend to feel a little vauge, thus affecting the confidence in the tire more than anything else. Wear is average but forgiven considering the price. They certainly are comfy enough and road noise is average to good. Cornering potential is also good but far from what you could expect from say a P-Zero or an Eagle F1.

When buying any tire it's always important to remember what you require from it. If you're after a tire for combined road use that feels sporty and offers good grip then the Falken 452 is your tire without question (perfect for cars under 150bhp). If you're running considerably more than 200bhp and plan on using that power then I wouldn't reccomend the 452. It simply is not designed for a combination of massive power and hard driving.

Used in the right context these tires are exceptional value for money and I highly reccomend them.

Do not understand all these negative comments.
Mine performed well on my Volvo 850 and lasted quite some time !

Writing about the Federal SS595 SUPER STEEL given 69% (215-40-18-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 spirited miles
After roasting a set of Falken FK452's in under 5000 miles I decided to try the Federal SS595. Quite a wide tyer compared to the Falkens, definately fills the wheel out more. Quite alot of noise but for the price all round performance is very good. Quite a low treadwear index (240) but wearing reasonably well. Have done 6000 so far and they should be good for another 3-4 thousand. Definately a decent budget tyre - just the noise lets them down a little

Driving on a combination of roads for 2500 spirited miles
I have a rica tuned Volvo 850 so it will always be tricky for a tyre to deal with a FWD chassis and 420NM of Torque. I decided to try the Falken FK452 instead of spending big money on Goodyear, Dunlop, Pirelli etc. Quite a sexy looking tyre but little sidewall portection Dry grip was terrible for the first couple of hundred miles but this seems to settled now to 'average' Not a patch on my old 205/50R16 SP01 Dunlops on the original wheels. The tyre sidewall seems quite soft and ride comfort is good which is a plus point. Quite a bit of road noise is transmitted to the cabin though. Wet performance is not so good. The tyres will aquaplan quite easily and generally slid all over the road even at medium throttle. 2500 miles later and I don't think these tyre will last much more than another 3-4k miles. Probably OK for the cost and definately if I had a lesser powered car the review may be different. I really did want to like these tyres but not a patch on a similar priced Toyo.
