185/70 14 Tyre Review Highlights

Continental Premium Contact 2 rated 67% while driving a Suzuki
Driving on a combination of roads for 23000 easy going miles
I Live in A Part of South Africa where I Live near a freeway, I have a back road to go on if I am lazy to go on the freeway, But the quality of both parts are quite bad, as some have lines, road dents and patches, and also some potholes.

I bought the car with them on as brand new as a full set, The car at the time was on 35K KM's. They were really good on dry days, like they gripped and balanced the car to my disbelief sometimes, though I did not Like how not so direct the steering gets when you want a direct steer. The fuel economy on the swift was beautiful on it, and they are very strong in terms of quality, as when I was going home for a weekend off, I got a nail from just after the start of the trip, the tyre kept its composure until I passed the second toll gate, and even I hit the brake after getting the puncture, the tyre didn't shred even after I stopped, and even after patching the tyre, it kept soldiering on. braking performance on the dry was wonderful.

The cons of these tyres is the poor performance and comfort when in the rain, and also the poor braking performance when they are close to finishing, and also on a rainy day.

I had to change them, because of The past garages(all from one brand, let me not mention it) where I did alignment at always didn't want to do rotation for unknown reasons, then after a change of garage brand when seeing that the alignment wasn't eating the tyres properly, they stated it could be because the garages I previously did alignment on do not charge for rotation and they get lazy because they see a decent set of tyres, whilst they were eating the tyre from the back more than how it would normally eat from the front tyres(Front WD).
I took the front tyres to the back, then put Flkens sn832"s in front, and the performance of the falkens complimented the comfort of the contis. I changed the first pair at 72K km's then the second will be changed soon.

But These Conti's are really good for higher performance cars than mine. If you can afford to buy conti's, Buy a whole set instead of being them in two's.

Driving on mostly motorways for 5000 spirited miles
I am stay in the South of Durban, South Africa. The conditions of the roads, especially in the part of Durban South I am in has a lot of Potholes, Road imperfections, and uneven surfaces. The Falkens were exactly what I would recommend to anyone living in Durban, even though they are extremely responsive, and have a high rolling resistance, But I even prefer them compared to the Conti ecocontact 2's I had on previously, as they couldn't grip the road imperfections when the rain comes. They are even quite affordable. They are quite a hard find in Durban, but once you find and fit them, Welcome to responsive driving.

Driving on mostly country roads for 9500 spirited miles
185/70/14. Brilliant in mud, rocky terrain and deep snow and ice. I run these tires all year round. Always get two new fronts each year as they are affordable and the tread depth is roughly 10mm in the size I use. These tires are good all year round but can feel heavy when weather reaches 20°c and above but they’re winter tires after all

Debica Navigator 2 rated 56% while driving a Ford Focus MK1
Driving on a combination of roads for 25000 easy going miles
I had tried winter Debica tire on my office car and it was OK for a budget choice. Usually budget tires last no more than 3 years and then they deteriorate drastically. Knowing this I bought all-season tires for my personal car thinking I'll buy better ones(like Michelin for instance) later on. I saw reviews that this tire wet grip is bad, but I did not know how bad indeed it is. Once I even lost the track and went out of the road after slight curve with 25mp/h. The tire was at ~2.5 years of service and I knew I must be careful and I was quite familiar with the road. So on wet road this tire is awful - totally do not recommend it. You can drive your car but need to be extremely cautious if there is water. During heavy rain in mountain and if you descend for instance - drive veeery slowly. During summer it stays soft and it can sometimes "whistle" on curves. In snow (I have tried it quite rare though) it performs well. After one summer season some tiny cracks formed at the surface and after the second summer they got more and bigger. After 4 years of service the size of the grapple is still more than sufficient but the mixture compound cracks. So in my opinion this is quite poor choice for all-weather tire. It may be good in snow but snow melts to water in cities and it is very bad in wet conditions. I am still using it after 4 years since I drive at low speed, but probably after a month or two I will finally replace it.

Vredestein Sportrac 5 rated 81% while driving a Honda
Driving on mostly country roads for 56000 easy going miles
Got these tires after a set of hankook, drove them 3 years in Wich the lasted 90000 km 56000 miles. Dry road drives incredible the handle like a dream, can put the car in every corner and the won't let go. Wet on the other hand isnt that stable, braking takes a while and the slip sometimes when pressing hard. I adjust my driving for this reason on rainey days but overall not living in a very Rainey courty i would buy them again if i could !

Debica Navigator 2 rated 73% while driving a Chevrolet Nexia II, dohc 1,6
Driving on mostly town for 38000 spirited miles
I bought this all season tyres after Kumho Solus to improve braking capacity of my car (sedan UzDaewoo nexia II). It's really good for dry and snowy roads. Very good even in icy roads. But unfortunately, it is very bad in wet surfaces! Do not recommend for rainy weather driving on asphalt. 3-4 hears of usage and more than 60 000 km

One of these tyres blew on our dual axle van ( luckily )completely destroyed the tyre even though we pulled up immediately says steel belt on the tyre but no sign of steel in what was left looks like a complete rag tyre thin wall won't stand up to wear only bitumen use 12,000k two thirds life rubbish pulling all off and replacing with good branded tyres cheap tyre not my choice a road worthy decision by previous owner 1 out of 10 my review
