235/60 18 Tyre Review Highlights

Kumho Izen RV KC15 rated 77% while driving a Hyundai 2011 Santa Fe CM 4x4
Driving on mostly country roads for 28000 easy going miles
Tested many times on different kinds of snow and always performed very well. The traction with AWD is surprisingly good and allows very secure pretty fast driving. Always safe on snowy descents, where the weight of the vehicle is your worst enemy, because the sideways behavior is reasonably grippy. Still have 4,5 mm after 28000 miles. One more winter and they're over.

Continental ContiCrossContact LX 2 rated 72% while driving a Hyundai Santa Fe
Driving on mostly country roads for 15000 easy going miles
Very good on dry and wet roads, safe on highway at high speed under the rain. They're good for few kms on gravel and safe on wet grass (AWD). I tested them on few kms on fresh snow and they climb reasonably with reduced incline (AWD). Not recommended on snow in descents.

Bridgestone Ecopia EP422 plus rated 27% while driving a Honda CRV
Driving on a combination of roads for 28 miles
Second set of these tires recommended by the Honda dealer. Replaced at 32,700 on the first and now 13 months and 28,000 on the second. Not even close to the 70,000 miles they claim.

Michelin Latitude Sport 3 rated 84% while driving a Land Rover
Driving on a combination of roads for 30000 average miles
These really are very good tyres. Even though I do the occasional bit of off-roading (and the tyres were fine for any soft-roading), I do a lot of distance on tarmac. They are quiet, comfortable, confidence inspiring and wear well. My only complaint would be that they come at a premium price.

Avon ZV7 rated 10% while driving a Hyundai Santa Fe
Driving on mostly town for 5000 easy going miles
I've only driven 5000 miles on the Avon AS7 tyres and already they are cracking and the tread is peeling. The MOT tester and several garages have all said that Avon tyres are complete rubbish and I totally agree and will never buy them again. I hope this review saves someone else from making the same mistake.

Pirelli Scorpion Verde rated 76% while driving a Volvo XC90 D5 185 HP
Driving on mostly motorways for 25000 easy going miles
I purchase these tires to replace the Chinese tires that I had on my car. The Chinese tires were okay when new but wore out rather fast and in less than a year it was completely worn out.

Immediately after putting on these Pirellis and the moment I drove off the workshop, I could feel the difference. These tires felt smoother and quieter on the road. I bought this tires because I was hoping it would make my highway commutes more comfortable and I have the peace of mind when its wet. It indeed delivered on those fronts. On some occasions where I travel to travel on rough gravel roads, these tires performed very well. Gave me excellent grip through the gravel and had no problem whatsoever. Braking distance was also good and got me through some heavy rains and on flooded roads.

After 14 months and 40,000km later, the tires were well worn to the legal limit and I had to replace them. My only gripe was that, I wanted the tires to last longer because I have had tires where I pushed its life to beyond 50,000km. That was the only let down I had and subsequently went and purchase Michelin Primacy +.

Price wise, it was not the most expensive nor the cheapest. Definitely on the higher end but you get what you pa for. I would recommend this tire to others and would not mind buying them again. It is just that, I wanted to try other tires. Trust me when I say it is not as bad as the reviews bashing it.

Michelin Latitude Cross rated 84% while driving a Hyundai Santa Fe
Driving on mostly country roads for 15000 average miles
Used on Hyundai Santa Fe for 6 months. Good throughout summer and autumn. Wear well and not noisey given tread. Works extremely well on wet and very wet grass which is why I got them. No real experience on snow but I think they will be much better than summer tyres.

General Grabber GT Plus rated 91% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2
Driving on mostly country roads for 29000 average miles
Very good tyres all round. There definately is some understeer in dry and wet but these are on a Freelander 2 not something I push into corners too hard! Comfort and noise were important to me and gt plus does well on these compared to other tyres I've had. Car feels undisturbed by large puddles on these tyres.
I tow a box trailer regularly upto 2 tonne so to get 29000 miles out of these tyres I was quite happy with.
4 more going on this week !

Hankook Kinergy 4S rated 20% while driving a Honda
Driving on a combination of roads for 0 average miles
I recently got a flat so I took my car in to my trusted car maintenance folks and they said they couldn't fix it, or put on two of the four tires because of the tread wear on them. I have a 2021 Honda CR-V and these were the stock tires Honda opted to put on the car. At roughly 24,000 miles I need new tires. This is absurd. Most of the tires this size are rated for a minimum 50K miles and I got less than half. In some places I've seen these tires rated for 70K. Absurd. I've never liked the noise from these tires or the handling but didn't realize until today just how cheap these tires actually are. Never Hankook again and maybe not Honda again if this is the cheap tire they are opting to put on their cars. Additionally, Honda doesn't cover these tires in their warranty, they expect the tire manufacturer to cover them. Guess what, Hankook doesn't provide a mileage minimum on their tires, likely because they know how awful and cheap these tires are as well. HORRIBLE customer experience.

Excellent winter tyre, and not that expensive. In cold conditions, a confident feel, superb in snow and light off roading. Barely worn after 10000km, recommended for SUV's
