255/60 18 Tyre Review Highlights

Continental ContiCrossContact LX 2 rated 81% while driving a Nissan
Driving on mostly motorways for 50000 average miles
I used that tire on my Nissan Navara around 80k kilometers(50k miles) it still have 4 milimeter deep treads on it. This set on 7th year and there are lots of micro cracks. I used them %95 on asphalt. It like their wet and brake performance. The noise is very low even at high speeds. I already ordered a new set same tires.

Pirelli Scorpion All Season SF2 rated 98% while driving a Nissan Navara 3.0L V6
Driving on a combination of roads for 2500 spirited miles
Changed from the original fitment and make a huge difference. Vehicle is much more responsive and gives a lot more feedback and much quieter. Very good grip in wet and dry and surprisingly, off-road also - close to AT tyres I've had. Also noticed better fuel consumption both driving normally and also towing 3,000Kg.

Michelin CrossClimate SUV rated 87% while driving a Land Rover Discovery 2
Driving on a combination of roads for 10000 average miles
Being honest, I bought these tyres because I had a good deal buying them of a friend second hand. I wouldn't buy part worn tyres but these were hardly worn and £250 for four tyres! My Discovery 2 is used for mainly transporting my dogs but the difference when I put these tyres on was like night and day. I originally had a mix of Acelera and Fulrun (the car came with these!!) and after seeing/feeling the difference with these Michelin tyres, I'll never buy a budget tyre! They're amazing in the rain, both around town and on motorways (no snow or ice yet, but I'm confident they'll perform). I've just done my first green lane travelling over mainly dry rocky ground, with lots of ruts and a few deep muddy ruts and these tyres flew through everything with no issues. I'm very impressed with these tyres and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending them them for any SUV (a family suv wouldn't use them as I have!!!)

Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport rated 68% while driving a Volkswagen Amarok permanent 4x4
Driving on a combination of roads for 1500 spirited miles
Well, suppose it is a road only tyre to which it does well. SUVs and much more pickups go off-asphalt so booo to both bridgestone and VW for fitting it to an Amarok and as such the poor review is well deserved. The tyre is AWFUL on anything more challenging than the best dirt roads. Just a mildly wet dirt-road and you're stuck. Dry grass and I barely knew what happened under my feet. A 100% on road tyre that performs well there, but doesn't deserve being fitted on a SUV much less a pick-up that intends to do more than parking on sidewalks!

Continental ContiCrossContact LX 2 rated 74% while driving a Nissan Navara D23 2,3TDI 190HP
Driving on a combination of roads for 28000 spirited miles
I use my truck for a combination of purposes: Towing my jet ski on sand/gravel/pebble beaches. Going to rough mountain roads and some off-roading there. I mostly go to where hiking trails start but can be challenging at times in Greece (see Rally Acropolis) Going skiing/mountaineering, again to the beginning of trails, to mountain refugees and the likes. I NEVER GOT STUCK! Driving in deep snow ~30cm at 40kph I had a mild understeer in a peculiar corner but that was it. Only once did I have to pull my jet-ski from further in at the beach because the trailer got buried in the sand and all fours spun out. The car alone had no issue though. I never got a puncture or tear on the sharp rocks of Greek mountains. Overall, an excellent tyre that I wish lasted a bit further from 40-45.000km

Goodyear Wrangler HP AllWeather rated 63% while driving a Nissan Navara D23 2,3TDI 190HP
Driving on mostly town for 100 spirited miles
Initial thoughts right after tyre change.
The tyres have a harsh ride! might need less than the prescribed pressure, but switching from Conti LX2's the ride comfort is way worse!
The breaking distance seems longer but rugged sidewalls seem to provide with more immediate response to driver input, which is really not what one looks for in the category.
Haven't gotten off-road yet but I expect a lot of that coming soon.

Continental ContiCrossContact LX 2 rated 84% while driving a Nissan Navara D23 2,3TDI 190HP
Driving on a combination of roads for 28500 spirited miles
After 30k+ miles (45k km) the tires had no tread left.
The ride is smooth and silky.
Very good traction in sand, pebbles, gravel, dirt and mud.
Above 40km/h on 20-30cm deep snow, some under steering appears even with locked 4x4. By comparison, my snow tyres on FWD are stable at over 60km/h.
Overall very good tyre that I would gladly wear again.

Continental ContiCrossContact LX 2 rated 81% while driving a Nissan 2016 navara np300
Driving on a combination of roads for 26000 average miles
Cant really comment on dynamics other than the navara feels secure on road the most impressive is how well they last, 26000 miles on pick up truck and still a bit to go,thats impressive

Maxxis Bravo AT771 rated 93% while driving a Land Rover Range Rover TD6
Driving on a combination of roads for 15000 average miles
Previously, I've bought sets of both the Goodyear Wrangler HP (Land Rover's original fitment) and Michelin Latitude Cross tyres. I decided however, that this time around I'd try a set of Maxxis AT771's as the Michelin's proved to work well on the road, but far less well off road, particularly on wet grass.

I generally expect All Terrain tyres to be a bit of a compromise, that said, the Maxxis 771's have really impressed me. The grip off-road is far better that I've experienced before, sure-footed progress up wet bank sides is no problem, likewise the grip on descent provides every confidence that you're not going to lose traction.

On the road, the 771's drive comfortably, they're smooth and surprisingly quiet, with little discernible difference in road / cabin noise to previous tyres despite the higher rating. The Maxxis 771's grip well in the dry and (if driven responsibly!) equally well in the wet, coping easily with moderate snow . After 11 months of use the wear on these tyres is minimal despite the car covering a good many road miles and with luck, they should last at least as well, if not somewhat better, than the Michelin Cross.

Overall, I highly recommend these tyres if you intend using your car both on and off road. I'd happily buy them again.

Nankang Activa SV 55 rated 23% while driving a Nissan Navara 3.0L V6
Driving on mostly country roads for 100 average miles
We bought these tyres as our winter tyres for the season and find them dangerous at best. We have used AT tyres in the past but as we are now living where it is snowy we thought we should opt for a winter tyre. They do not stop in the snow at all and will be complaining to the manufacturer. I will be removing on Monday to buy a proper winter tyres. I would avoid at all costs!
