This was my tyre of choice after seeing some reviews on snow. I must say it delivered in snow as promised on a hill and slopes it really was good to drive with predictable control. I had to stop on slope and I managed to resume with not too much slip on a RWD off course DSC was OFF and gentle throttle control once it moves you can have some fun on snow. In a dry comfortable tyre for long journeys a bit noisy over 160 km/h, also very stable at 210 km/h in dry. In wet it’s stable and very good under breaking. On twisty roads I was surprised how good it was for a winter tyre, ton of grip and very stable on long fast medium corners and fast twisty roads.

I have used Vector 4 Season Gen 1 and now Gen 2 on my partners FWD Toyota Yaris. Also Michelin Cross Climates on a FWD Volvo and RWD MX5 and Cross Climate + on a RWD Lexus over the last 7 years. In the South of the UK and when i lived in Cumbria.
In past 9 months I bought a Lexus RC300H which was fitted with Bridgestones and was hugely annoyed to find that there was no all season tyre available for the rear tyre size (which are different to the front tyre size). In winter specification you could only get rear tyres of one compound / year and front tyres of another compound / year with the same manufacturer so I was in a huge dilemma because although I live in the South in Oxfordshire I very frequently experience severe cold, icy and sometimes snowy roads due to the countryside location and also the height above sea level that I have to travel through every day to and from work. In fact where I live is often recorded as the coldest place in England .
So following lots of calculations / checks I decided on going from 265 to 255 on the rears and that enabled me to have a choice of all season tyre that would be the same compound etc on all 4 wheels.
From personal experience of driving tens of thousands of miles on both brands I always felt that the Goodyear tyres were better on snow and frosty inclines during severe weather compared to the Michelins. Although the Goodyears were on FWD cars with narrower tyres which helps they 'felt' far better and even more noticable in the cold wet weather. I think this is because Michelin are a summer tyre with winter capability whereas Goodyear are a winter tyre with summer capability.
On this car my plan is to swap back to my Bridgestones for Spring and Summer so I did not need an all season tyre that would work well during summer months so therefore opted for the Goodyear to get the best option for winter and i am so pleased that i did!
The Lexus RC300H whilst it has its 12V battery and more importantly Lithium battery packs at the rear below the boot it is known for being very tail happy in any cold / cold damp conditions. Well it has been completely the opposite with the Goodyears, I have now driven 2,000 miles on them since October through torrential downpours, muddy areas and extreme cold (this week been between -8 to +4 for 5 days so far) with lots of ice. I have been driving out on country roads from 06:30 @-4c to -8c and after 20:00 when it has been -2c to -5c each day and also at these times going up and down a private road that has a 1:6 slope with a hair pin bend and no gritting on it and it has been absolutely perfect. Not a single trigger of the LSD or other safety features has occurred, even more impressive is that I have witnessed two FWD cars one a Fiesta the other a Golf that I know have summer tyres on them that have not been able to get up the slope at all during these temps.
In the crazy torrential rain that we have had they cut through the water so easily, you get a bit of noise from the water spraying out but it doesn't matter because you can feel it is sure footed and secure with no drift or aquaplaning ever experienced. I thought they would be good in the wet as the ones on my partner Yaris are superb.
Regarding noise in general use they are as quiet as the summer Bridgestones and so far they do not use anymore fuel in standard temperature either as I track / keep a spreadsheet of all fuel usage
My Michelins came a little unstuck on the slope mentioned above on my previous RWD Lexus and I sometimes had to park at top and walk down as otherwise could not get out in the morning but no such issue with the Goodyear Vector 4 Season Gen3. I have not been able to try them in anything other than very very light snow but am very confident they will be far superior to a summer tyre.
They seem to be wearing evenly but I would expect this of a car not 5 years old and only 22,000 miles on the clock, although it is a very heavy coupe at 1,900kg.
I am so impressed with them that I am reconsidering if I will change back to the Bridgestones come Spring time. The only issue is those tyres have only done 2,000 miles on them so I would rather swap to wear them out but once finished I think I will keep the Goodyears on all year around.

Fitted these 32,000 miles ago based on reviews on this site and others; I haven't been disappointed. I haven't tested handling or wet and dry braking on the limit, but at reasonable speeds, they have always been reassuring and never given cause for worry on ice or snow, They were pretty quiet at first, but as they have worn, they have become a little noisier on some surfaces. However, they are still very quiet on good motorway tarmac. I didn't think they would last for 32,000 miles, but they still have between 3.5 and 4.5mm tread after being rotated once which is impressive. I am selling the car, so no idea how much longer they will last, but until spring wouldn't be unreasonable. A bit more expensive, but worth it in my opinion.
Dangerous! OK for wear and handling, had a pair of DX640 (255/40/R19) on the front of a Jaguar XJ V8 - first one started losing pressure as if it had a slow puncture - when I took it off to try and find the leak it was much worse - the entire sidewall had split away from the shoulder! The other side was fine and not losing pressure, but a few months on while working on the brakes I noticed the other tyre is goosed too - massive split between the shoulder and the tread revealing lots of sheared steel wires and cords from the belts! 15k miles and barely 3 years on the car, less on the first one, both with a good 4mm of tread left. Never again!

If you drive a car of which NVH won’t be much affected by the tires these Contis are are very precise and definitely give a sporty feel. But if you are concearned about NVH then be warned that these tires produce excesssive amounts of noise and are quite harsh rising. Not a tire to buy for comfort. Changed them for Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmteric 6’s and the difference is night and day.

I’ve these on my 3.0 Audi A6 Quattro. They aren’t an uncomfortable tyre, so to speak, but they leave a lot to be desired if you’re even a modestly spirited driver. The traction control on my Audi is very aggressive, so much so that if I’m having a play, I disable it. I’ve lost traction several times in low speed but high sidewall force scenarios. These trees just don’t hold up to any lateral force at all. Unless you’re dithering about, they will throw your car all over the road in a wallow. I can’t speak to how long they last, nor how they are in the wet. I’ve done a thousand miles on mine and I’m ready to swap them out for just about anything.
The biggest issue is the way they respond under braking. They just don’t. They slip and slide all over the place under intense braking.
Are they okay for doing the weekly shop? Yes. Are they okay for dithering about, doing the school run, and doing 60mph in the outside lane? Probably. Are they any good if you like to use more than 30 percent of your available throttle sometimes? No.
I didn’t choose to fit them. They were fitted merely to get through an MoT by the previous owner.

I had these tires fitted last October, and testing them out in the Canadian winter, I've got to say there's no fear driving with these on snow. I can't comment on the wear of these tires as I just got them, but they seem to be doing fine.
My impression is that these tires are definitely worth the extra dollar. I say this coming off a set of Hankook I'cept Evos, which were absolutely terrible with road noise. These tires are dead silent compared to that.
Dry grip is good, there is a little bit of vibration, but that could easily be my rims. Wet grip is excellent, never had any problems in the rain with hydroplaning. My car does have four wheel drive, which could be a contributing factor, so keep that in mind.
Excellent tire, excellent drive, worth the extra money.

I scored a used set of VC7’s with only 200 miles on them. They still had the ink stripes on the treads. I have them mounted on my mercury grand marquis which is identical to a Ford crown Victoria, a rear wheel drive open diff 2 ton behemoth. Coming from all seasons that were down to the wear indicators, snow was a white knuckle ride. I moved to a rural area that averages freezing temps 4 months out of the year and has roads that aren’t plowed clean during snow fall. I am a little biased because of what I paid for these tires and how good they are coming from all seasons. My car is horrible in the snow but with the vc7’s I was able to climb up my steep driveway with 4 inches of fresh snow with little to no wheel spin. I am blown away by how well these snow tires work, especially on a car that is notoriously bad in snow. I will be switching back to my all seasons soon as the winter is over, so hopefully I can get a few seasons out of these tires. All in all even if I had to pay msrp for these tires I would buy them again. They are buttery smooth, cruise well, and are very quiet.

I drive different cars every day and am an automotive expert. These tires are very good. I have the opportunity to compare them in the same conditions with other similar ones and I say that the tires are great. They are much more stable after 50% wear compared to many other premium brands.

I recently replaced Dunlop RT2's on my Audi S6 C7.5 with Pirelli P Zero PZ4's. The RT2 was really good in the wet with good resistance to aquaplaning but they never gave much confidence in dry handling or feedback. I fitted the PZ4's following a top review in Evo magazine. They are a good more aggressive/sporty looking tyre (if that is of any importance) with good rim protection. Dry handling is good, they seem to have a more rigid sidewall than the RT2's and inspire more confidence, better grip and accuracy in dry cornering. They are a little noisier than the RT2 but not excessively so and the ride is a little harder - which in fact suits the car. What I was not expecting is the poor (I mean really poor) aquaplaning resistance. General wet handling is ok but driving at speed (60mph+) through standing water on the motorway scares the shit out of me - they are awful. The tyres at this point have only 1,000 miles on them so too early to comment on wear rate. The RT2's I used for 22k miles by which time they were down to 4mm, I replaced them after a succession of punctures - not sure I'd buy them again but they were at least sure footed in the wet. I won't be buying the PZ4 again solely because of their poor wet performance.

comfortable tires, good grip on dry surfaces, but the tires are very soft, the sides are soft, the direction of the car is inaccurate, the car feels unstable at high speed. They are not performance tires, they are rather car tires without sporting pretensions. tire noise is high at low speeds. I switched to bridgestone potenza, which are just as comfortable, but the steering response has become much more precise. very small rim protection.
