After coming from some rather awful "Wanli" tyres on the back of my Lexus 220D, all I can say is that these tyres are a god-send and in a totally different class...

Billed as mid-range, and priced as such, these tyres are fantastic in the wet, are very quiet and give great feedback from the road. The dry grip is also good, as I have to pull out every morning on to a blind bend of an A road and these tyres don't skid, squeal or spin; even with the traction control off.

I can't say much about the wear just yet, as I only done a few thousand miles on them, but felt I had to write a glowing review based on the contrast between these tyres and the budget Wanli tyres.

They've made a huge difference to my driving confidence in the wet; taking the many roundabouts on the way to work in the wet and driving on wet motorways is much less daunting with these tyres on the back of a rear wheel drive Lexus.

Before these tyres, losing the back end round a roundabout in the wet was routine (thank the stars for Traction Control!), but I've purposefully tried (within reason) to lose grip in the wet round a tight roundabout with these tyres and so far I've not been able to.

All-in-all, great tyres, good value, well engineered and British to boot!!

Firstly I usually only drive my car in the dry in summer. Alfa Spider TS.
So far these tyres have demonstrated great feel ( every stone in the road and the road surface itself is 'felt' through the steering wheel. They have great grip through corners (powering through fast bends is a delight) they have great traction (never had to sit at a junction with my wheels spinning as I try to pull out quickly) and they are at the right price.
Cannot talk about wear yet as I have not had them long enough but so far they still look new after 3000miles.

Very impressive tyre. I have never experienced a mid-range tyre this good. My previous car was a Vectra SRI with michelins on and it was lacking grip at the front. To give you an idea, at one particular corner in a chelmsford single carriageway (60mph speed limit), I could only take it at 30mph max in the Vectra with Michelins. However, with the Avons on a Toyota Prius, I could easily take the same corner at 40mph with no problem at all. Even the arrogant A6 behind me couldn't keep up with me around this corner despite tailgating me aggressively for the previous mile or so. They don't like losing to a Prius! I don't know if the Prius is a better car or not but I am very impressed by these Avons. They feel extremely comfortable so maybe they are very soft tyres. Hopefully they will last long. Only time will tell. Good job Avon!

I'm a driving instructor with a powerful Audi A3 TDI. I buy only Avon ZV5 tyres for my car as I have tested many. I really test these tyres, they get bashed hard into kerbs, many hard stops and many miles traveled in comfort. I've never had a blow out on these tyres which is a lot to say about other tyres I've used in the past. When I drive, I drive hard and fast being an ex racing driver and they handel like a train and they do give you notice before you push them too hard. I was amazed how good they were in deep snow so overal, they are the perfect all rounder tyres.
They are longer lasting rubber but you loose handling and noisy, there are more grippy tyres but waisted on the road and wear quickly. There is no better choice in my mind, buy the ZV5's.

I fitted the ZV5's when the season changed and my snow tyres needed taken off. Having previous driven the same car (C4 GP) with the original OEM Michelin tyres on the different is quite incredible. The tyres grip better in the dry and significantly better in the wet. They produce little road noise and and a pleasure to have fitted, I have only done approx. 2K miles so far (so too early to comment on wear), but if they continue to perform like this I will definitely fit another set.

Bought a very low mileage 406 coupe that still had all four of its factory fitted 8 year old michelin pilots on!
Had the ZV5s fitted and they have transformed the car, Handles like it should now, so grippy, very assured driving on wet motorways, no sign of any wear yet after 3000 miles, £40 a corner cheaper than michelins too!
Nice to have the rim protection on these, a real bonus avoiding those nasty kerb scrapes that ruin your alloys.

I've used pretty much every premium brand tyre and I've got to say these are right up there. They suit my car really well and have improved comfort and noise levels as well as feeling solid and secure. Not had them long enough to comment on wear so will have to see, but first indications are really positive

This is the best value for money I have had for the front tyres on my Peugeot 406 2.0 ltr HDi. I got 23,000 miles out of them doing a mixture of long distance and urban driving (mainly urban). This compares to my a very meadiocre performance from Goodyear NCT5 I used before. Avons were GBP 5.00 more, worth every penny.

I bought a set if these in 225/40/zr18 for my 192bhp remapped 2.2 civic, there good grippy tyres but quite are a soft compound and don't last too long! although with 432nm of torque not many tyres will last long :-0 good feedback and quiet on the motorway, could do with the tyre walls being a bit stiffer, a good tyre overall though i would buy again!!

Bought the ZV5's all round and have been very impressed, especially with the wear. I had Bridgestones on before these which on the rear lasted 12K miles where as the ZV5's have done 20K and even down the the legal limit give ok grip. They are a good price too (local dealer fully fitted price about £80 each) I would certainly buy these again.

I had these on the back of an s2000. Wore slightly quickly but offered lots of grip and slid nicely.

Replaced by some Fulda Sport Controls which cost around the same but seem a bit better in every way.

Bought a pair of these ZV5's to replace a pair of Michelin Pilot Primacy's, not a bad tyre good alround grip, been on the car for three years only half warn, But for the money £150 for the pair of ZV5's, Neuton NT5000 or NT8000 are cheaper and in my veiw better value for money at £110 the pair.
