Top 3 Hankook Ventus V2 Concept 2 H457 Reviews

Given 51% while driving a Toyota Scion XD (215/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 2,000 spirited miles
Start with the good. They are quiet, comfortable i.e. soft sidewall tires. They seem to be wearing well although only had them for 2k miles. They're cheap. Probably the cheapest name brand tire I could find in my size. They handle ok in the dry for acceleration & braking. Cornering grip is ok as well. Trying to keep this in perspective as my daily has 200TW RS4 tires. Rolling resistance is decent but not great. My Scion is averaging 27mpg mixed highway/city. Would expect something in the 30's without hypermiling. Now the bad. Wet weather traction is terrible. Could be wet or standing water. Car will spin on acceleration even in 2nd & 3rd great & this is in a car with about 80hp. Cornering in the wet is terrible. You have to drive like a granny not to slide. Braking in the wet is the only area oddly enough where it's ok.

Given 83% while driving a Peugeot 307 (205/55 R16) on a combination of roads for 100 average miles
Fitted used one for my 307 hatchback, this tyres is miles improvement compared to previous one GT Radial Champiro BXT Pro, super quiet in highway and good handling both wet and dry. Not sure if i want to buy again since other brands such Continental or Michelin might offer better overall performance

Given 77% while driving a Volkswagen MKVII Bluemotion (225/45 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 200 spirited miles
Bought these tires on a budget as they cost 40% cheaper than the Continental Sports Contact 5 I had previously, that wore out in just 25,000kms. The new V2 Concept 2 had similar grip levels in acceleration and cornering, excellent turn in, slightly soft sidewalls during hard cornering, but is quiet, comfortable and have lower rolling resistance. The only drawbacks are that it doesn't brake as well in the dry and wet as the CSC5, needing a longer distance to come to a complete stop. On the bright side, the treadwear rating is almost double at 500 compared to 280 of the CSC5. It's a great tire for daily driving, especially in the city where there maybe rough or uneven roads, as it dampens the impact and road noise. I haven't pushed it to the limits yet, as I'm still letting the tyres run in, but the CSC5 could take up to 145kph at a bend before losing grip on my 168bhp APR stage 1 Golf MK7. I've only gone up to 100kph on the Hankooks in a bend and 160kph on straights. So far no regrets and I'm confident of its handling at high speeds. Will continue to monitor and give a mid life review in future.

Given 63% while driving a Volvo C30 T5 (/50 R17) on a combination of roads for 28 spirited miles
Decent grip dry. Not quite as good in wet. Eh in snow. Good bang for your buck. Tread life could have been better but wasn’t terrible. Sidewalls have noticeable flex. Noisy on grooved pavement. Good for light spirited driving.

Given 43% while driving a Subaru BRZ (215/45 R17) on mostly town for 20,000 spirited miles
Tire is pretty cheap and decent grip on the dry, but when its wet, the car will slide all over the road so I have to drive extra gingerly in the wet. Its fun if I want to power slide in the wet due to the car good handling and rear wheel drive, but can give you a fright if you were not expecting that to happen. Starting off the lights on the slope can be troublesome due to lack of grip and the wheel will spin easily. I have Pilot Sport and Good Year Assurance Triple Max on the other car now which is much better tires than this.

Given 23% while driving a Toyota Levin (205/40 R17) on a combination of roads for 1,000 spirited miles
Horrible handling for my car which I used to trust in any weather on any corner. Don’t purchase if you enjoy driving fast around corners.

Given 67% while driving a Honda DC2 Integra Type R (205/50 R15) on a combination of roads for 30,000 spirited miles
These tires were surprisingly good in the dry, offering good feedback and reassuring grip levels even when pushing it a bit. They are let down a bit in the wet however, Though they are quite predictable even during wet driving. For daily driving, they're pretty smooth and road noise isnt too bad. I was satisfied with their lifespan as well, doing nearly 50,000km and still a few millimetres of tread left. They are a quite well priced tire if you want Something with a bit more performance and feedback but dont want or cannot afford to go the whole hog on RE003s/PS3s etc.

Given 56% while driving a Mitsubishi Lancer GT 2.0 (215/50 R17 R) on mostly motorways for 15 spirited miles
Was good initially. However do not take corners in the wet! If u drive a poor handling car u will spin off ur car.

Tried taking a corner at 60kmh and the car almost fishtailed. And that is just a normal drizzle. Imagine under pouring wet condition.

In the dry it is ok. Could do better with grip for sure. Under hard braking the ABS will come out more often than GOODYEAR F1 D5
