Writing about the Goodyear UltraGrip Ice 2 given 89% (225-60-16-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 13000 average miles
I've driven about 20000km / 13000miles during last 6 months here in central finland with these tyres, and have nothing to complain about them. Wet ice is of course the worst condition to them, but yet totally manageable. On snow surfaces they have very good grip, and on tarmac, wet or dry, the best studless nordic winter tyres I've ever driven. Comfort level is about at same level as Michelin X-Ice Snow or other top level studless tyres. Tyre wear seems to be ok, they will last easily second winter (+20000km) or more. No surprices in any conditions, very good tyre for nordic winter.

Very very good for wet, if you drive in wet is best tire, but bad on snow and dry, bad comfort and too much noise, dont buy, too much money, have better tires in mid/budget class

Driving on mostly motorways for 1300 miles
I drove these tires around 2000 km and they are great. The car is not so powerfull but this tires fits it very well. I am driving maxinum possible fast where ever I can and they didnt slip any where. Very good on wet. Little bit noisy above 100kmh. For that price around 50e they are great. Waiting winter to see snow grip

Best tires I've ever owned, for the money. Smooth like butter and quiet for a winter tire on potholes, road cracks or rough roads. Not quiet for a winter tire but really quiet. Grip is superb, both wet and dry. Feedback is numbed by the smoothness of the tire. Handling is very good.

Excellent allround tire city, country or highway. Smooth traveling no matter what the roads are like, but when it comes to turning or wet roads you can feel the tires struggling a bit. Fuel consumption is decent at avg. 7L/100km. The wear is great, in my opinion, 60 000km with a set. The only set back is the price. cca 800E for 4 tires seems too much for my blood.

Bought them because they were the most cost effective choice on paper. Driven for almost 5000km/3000miles and now i can say the following. Comfort: Comparing with the Michelin Primacy 3 and Kleber Krisalp HP3 winter tires they seem a bit on the rough side. You can definitely feel every pothole and crack on the road. It feels like seating on a park bench with plastic wheels at times, but they seem quiet. More than the Michelin or the Kleber ones. Highway travel is peace and quiet, city and county rough but quiet. Handling and breaking: Wet and dry very good. Firm lane changes, cornering like on rails and breaking is very positive as described in every test that i could find. All in all better than the mentioned ones on dry roads, but on wet roads close to the Kleber ones when new. Fuel consumption: Awful. From an average of 7 L/100km on winter tires to 10 L/100km is a big jump that was not expected. I had the car inspected by my mechanic and did a wheel alignment, but the high fuel consumption is persistent.

Handling is predictable, there's more than enough grip for family wagon, tire noise is also at decent level. Comparing to previous Michelin tires, low price doesn't mean low quality. I'd say a good bang for a buck.

Only had the tyres fitted 6k miles but very impressed with them.
The grip, wear and comfort are excellent and probably exceed previous fitted tyres costing up to 3 times more.

After wearing out previous cheaper Marangoni tyres on the front of the car I bought these and fitted in October 2013 which then decided to get warmer for a while. They are quiet in use and very good in the dry both at cornering and harder braking- with no slop like I could feel with the Marangonis. In the wet they seem far superior to the summer Continentals, especially in the damp (indeed when I finally swapped back this April to the summer Conitnental tyres they felt very much on tip toe when cornering compared with the winter tyres and this was with a temperature well above the 7 degrees that summer tyres should be better than winter tyres. Also when accelerating briskly from a standstill the Nokians just worked whereas the summer Continentals are likely to spin the wheels. Certainly this better behaviour in the wet in winter makes it worth fitting them. As last winter was somewhat mellow compared with the previous ones I only used them in the snow a few times but they worked well. My only negative is that perhaps due to the relative high weight of my car is that wear is probably higher than I expected - though this could be using them for longer periods in hotter weather but they are around £15-30 cheaper than the bigger brands and other than perhaps Michelins according to tests most have a similar wear rate.
