Ford Falcon xr6 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Pirelli Dragon Sport given 57% (245-40-18-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
These tyres are good tyres for daily driving on reasonably smooth roads, but I have found they struggle when pushed on backroads and make above-average noise on highways and course chip country roads. The tyres do not have as high a level of grip as the 'Sport' name would suggest, and shouldn't be compared to PS4/RE003 or equivalent tyres. Anyone looking at these should think of them as a mild performance tyre, with more grip than the average commuter tyre, but less than an 'enthusiast' tyre. However, at the limit, the tyres let go progressively and hold up well to braking. Some slight understeer and chatter can be felt in the rain, but can be driven around.

I have bought these tyres for 2 of my car's and comfort ,performance and price ,their the best tyres ever. If I paid top price for other so called top brands I would be very disappointed . These rapid ecosaver tyres were around $70 cheaper saving $280 per set. Very happy.

Writing about the Dunlop SportMaxx RT given 84% (245-45-17-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 18000 spirited miles
I've travelled 30,000km over 18 months on a variety of roads with these tyres, and they've performed brilliantly. Grip is excellent, both wet and dry. It really impressed me how stable my RWD, open diff car felt doing 100km/h on the highway in heavy rain. Wear is as good as you'd expect for a tyre of this type.

Bought these tyres just as a cheap alternative for my XR6 Falcon, the car is only driven maybe once a week as I have a company car. For the price compared to major name brand tyres, I am loving them! They handle well in dry conditions, they're not noisy, as with all cheaper tyres if you put your foot to the floor in the wet they spin (kind of expect that with most tyres!).

Overall they are great value for money if you don't want to spend big $$$$ on name brand tyres.

Writing about the Hankook Ventus S1 evo2 given 74% (245-35-19-)
Driving on mostly town for 16000 average miles
Very good tyre for the price, excellent wet and dry grip for a big car, sidewalls are a little soft so at the limit turning is a little compromised but overall a great tyre with average noise levels. Is a soft compound so wear rate is quick for heavy cars- lighter cars may be a different story. But would recommend and buy again just for the wet grip alone.

Good wearing with good grip wet and dry.
Reasonably comfortable without too harsh a ride.
Lacks grip sometimes when cornering.
Good water clearing ability right up to end of life.

Took them off and replaced with bridgestone reoo2 far superior in wet and dry. After both my wife and I slidding out on the Dunlops we took them off Three weeks after buying the new car put the bridgestones on and what a difference. If you dont feel safe pushing your car through corners change to the RE002 and its like driving a different car

Very impressed at first quieter and smoother than original Dunlops. But they have worn very fast 20,000 km compared to the 40000km we got out of the Dunlops we could have got Dunlops for the same price. Wont buy Falken again
