Driving on a combination of roads for 75000 average miles
I've bought these BF to get better performance off-road while using 50/50 on/off-road environment. These was the best tyres I had for weekend off-road usage or sometimes a more agressive all terrain driving and hill descent on dry or mud conditions. Very good grip off-road Good for snow, never tested on ice Not very good for sand as we need to lower pressure a lot (until about 13 PSI) compared to other softer tyres I'll change to another brand because despite I like them a lot they don't perform well on road specially on wet conditions where I drastically loose steering and break capacity They lasted for almost 6 years/75000 miles rolling every day what I consider an excellent duration

Pretty good but not as good as the Goodyear F1 4x4 tyre. These are fairly decent for high speed 4x4 tyres but I have less confidence in cornering at speed in the wet. At the price I paid, well below published prices they represent good value considering their minimal wear rate which is probably due to being a slightly harder compound.

Driving on mostly motorways for 13000 easy going miles
I had to change all four original Continental Contacts on my Freelander 2 at 33,000 miles and went for Pirelli Scorpion Verde - big £600 mistake! After just 13,000 miles (mostly motorway)they are down to the wear bars - the compound is clearly too soft for a 4WD and with such a short life span they are NOT 'green' . . . very disappointed.

they say you get what you pay for, well for the extra money spent, these tyres have payed back in high mileage(40,000+),they cut though snow and mud,and on black ice(lets say im still here with no marks to the disco)and bendy roads kept on the stright ,around towns grip is realy good with very little to none road noise(its a disco and noisy),in emergancy stops IT STOPS,i would recommend to all, who want a good all round tyre, for mud and snow and high mileage

Excellent allround tyres on a Landrover Discovery although wear rate is high and the new prices are extortionate. I picked my set up brand new with brand new L/R wheels off a Range Rover Sport 4 years ago for £400 plus delivery. Bargain.

Hi,
We have these fitted to our Land Rover Discovery 2 that regularly tows 3tons. We live in Italy 2000feet up on the Appennines and can experience 3+ft of snow during winter. There are areas/roads here that require you to have either snow chains or 'snow tyres' before you can proceed. From my research before i bought snow tyres, persuaded by my wife who objected rather too aggressively that she would refuse to get out in the snow and fit snow chains when needed, that these tyres were the most popular and now i know why. They're great. Snow tyres, we are told, are normally a soft compound and can wear considerably when on dry tarmac - see wet tyres on F1 cars - ours are wearing, as we speak, just as well as 'normal tyres'. We have done over 12k miles and i have yet to witness a reduction in tread depth.
PS; No i do not work for Pirelli.

I have these tyres on my Discovery II and they are awesome. They have done just over 25000 miles (they weren't new when I got them!) and there is still a few miles left! The grip is fantastic in all conditions including super slippy ice. I would recomend them all day long. My use is general road use on M, A & B roads including a fair bit of towing. They haven't even punctured on me, not bad considering their mileage.

I have 4 of these on my Disco2. Road performance is very good in any weather and in any road conditions. I was very pleased by the off-road performance, as well. Although these are not off-road tyres they are very good for rock crawling and surprisingly well in the mud. I was once in the middle of a rice field, stuck all the way to the axles. I took time and a lot of effort, but I made it out without the help of a tractor.

Good all-round summer and winter tyres. Not particularly high levels of grip, but consistent wet or dry, with an easy progressive slide. Good all-rounder on wet, dry, snow and twisty alpine tracks; but poor in mud, which is to be expected. Lasted 45k miles (down to 3mm form about 9mm original depth) Were very good value for money through small LR specialists - used to be even cheaper to buy in Italy, even though they were made in Wales. Have been through at least four sets of four on three LR Discos (a TD300 and two TD5s). However, now running Conti Cross Contacts UHPs on a VW, which are a vastly superior 4x4 road-only (no snow or mud) tyre at a vastly superior price!
