Lexus GS430 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Nexen N Fera SU4 given 94% (245-40-18-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
Bought these in a 245/40/18 for £64 a corner to fit to my V8 Lexus as the Dunlop SP2030's fitted to it were uncomfortable and very noisy, which was especially highlighted in a near silent Lexus.

I would normally purchase premium tyres but I was intrigued by the combination of the Nexen's bargain price and excellent EU rating of A for wet weather braking and B for fuel economy. The Dunlops that came off my car are EU rated E & E, which is incredibly poor, and these would have cost £130 a corner!!

My car has been transformed for the better on these Nexen's with lower road noise, significantly improved ride comfort and excellent wet weather traction. Btw, I'm in my early 40s and don't drive like Miss Daisy.

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 spirited miles
A great budget tyre in my opinion. Bought as replacements for Pirelli P Zero Rosso's on my Lexus GS 430. The car is very heavy and powerful, and I was somewhat apprehensive. I have used Nexen N8000's on a Lexus GS before, which they were great in the Summer on both dry and wet roads but utterly useless in snow/ice/slush having 0% traction on snow. I'm currently driving in the UK and Germany on a real combination of roads from Autobahns at 100mph+ driving for long distances to "A" roads and town driving. I therefore faced the first snow in Germany with a sense of genuine dread but my fears were unfounded. The N6000's much much better than I could have hoped for. They performed excellently on snowy roads, and cope very well with high speed German Autobahn and UK motorway driving. They are comfortable, predictable and perform well in the wet. Noise levels don't seem to be much different than the Pirelli's they replaced. The jury is still out on wear levels, but all in all a great tyre for the money. I will almost certainly buy again.

worst tyres I ever had, front bearings gone, very noisy, no grip in wet, waste of money , had to replaced them just after 1000 miles, never again

Writing about the Avon ZZ5 given 90% (245-40-18-W)
Driving on a combination of roads for 2000 spirited miles
Had these tyres on rear for couple of months. I had Pirelli on front and FK452 on rear so when the front tyres needed replacing I had the Falken moved to front and had 2 new ZZ5's put on back, mainly as I was unable to source FK452's at a decent price. When the FK452's need replacing I will fit these ZZ5's all round. They are a really quiet tyre (on my car anyway) and give a solid feel and good ride quality. Can't really comment on tyre wear/life yet. At £138 a corner I am more than happy with them.

It's starnge, because many of you complaining about fat wear and uneven wear of these Pirelli PZero Rosso. I purchased my car 4 years in the past 2007, and the car was fitted with practically new (2000~3000 miles) tires. I driving not so many - have bike and other car, but done on these tires ~12 000 miles. And they still have more than half depth of the tread. My driving style not so F1 style, but sometimes I sprint from stop or reach speeds more than 200km/h. And the engine is 4.3L, RWD ~300HP.
Anyway I have one complain - Pirelli PZero Rosso are quite noisy :( (tire manuf. year 2005)
