Writing about the Federal SS595 SUPER STEEL given 54% (215-40-17-)
Driving on mostly town for 10000 spirited miles
I put on the Federal SS595 already a year, this tyre is suck.....
Dry day is acceptable but wet day is unacceptable totally suck I can say that is not safe drive when wet / rainy day. But the advantage is the tyre thickness and the rubber hardness is extremely good. But the I will never buy again....

Writing about the Falken ZE912 given 78% (195-50-16-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 1200 average miles
These tyres replaced Yokohama Advans all round and we've covered about 1,200 miles in them. They are quiet and comfortable and have never felt short of grip in wet or dry. With the Yokos we had severe tramlining; with the Falkens we have just reasonable feedback. I measured the tread depths and it looks as if we are heading for 15k miles out of the fronts (much better than the 10k of the Yokos). If I remember to swap fronts/backs every few thousand miles we should get 30k out of the set.

Writing about the Yokohama ADVAN A460 given 60% (195-50-16-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 45 average miles
Actual tyre model: Advan A460 - original equipment and we've stuck with them. Being soft and grippy they complement this car's very firm ride. BUT fronts last only 10K; rears last 5+ years but car failed MoT because of cracked sidewalls. (OK, I should have swapped fronts-rears.) These tyres also split down the tread grooves. They're v. expensive and hard to come by. Now all four need replacing we're going for 185x55s and a different make (that's how I found this excellent site)!
