Mercedes Benz CLK 430 Coupe Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Dunlop SportMaxx RT given 68% (245-40-17-W)
Driving on mostly country roads for 4600 spirited miles
I put an axle set of these Dunlops on the back of my CLK after I bought it - the P Zero Rossos it came with were on the bars, so can't compare. Dunlops are quiet and offer lots of grip. Can't really speak to feedback because they're on the rear, but no complaints.

Only thing, and this is massive, after 4,600 miles they are probably 75% worn. This was mostly (fast) motorway driving, and mostly in the wet, so extremely disappointed. You'd think I'd have been power sliding everywhere to get that level of wear after such a short time. It's even wear with no artifacts, and common to both sides so it's not an alignment issue.

£80 a month on tires by the time I'll need new ones really isn't acceptable. This is a shame because I love the performance.

Had 2 setts of these on stagered alloys (common with mercedes) they are a great tyre and both performance and grip in wet & dry was excellent. Only let down was miles.... max 6,000 and I don't drive that bad - well you don't buy a V8 engined Mercedes to poodle about. Country roads mainly.... Sold V8 and moved into Orpington now so purchased a CLK 270 CDi. Can't get the performance, always in traffic so V8 was pointless. Current Merc got P7's back and Conti's SP2 on front but I'm now on the market for probably Falkens fitted to new Stagered 18's being fitted. 225/40/18 FRONTS AND 255/35/18 REAR.....
