SEAT LEON ST 1.6TDi SE DSG Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the GT Radial Champiro FE1 given 49% (205-55-16-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 spirited miles
This tires came with the car when I bought it and I thought I would change them as soon as I can. But they ended up being better than expected, so I kept them for a year. They are good in dry conditions, but they are not uhp or anything near a sport tire. Feedback gets vague when you push them and you don't really have any precision when driving faster. But they don't just snap and lose grip, everything happens gradually. They are predictable and safe when driving normally. Things get worse in wet, but they are not deadly like some other Chinesium tires. You will still get lateral slip, abs on harder braking and spinning if you get aggressive if any way on wet, but they are good with aquaplaning and will keep you on the road if you careful. All in all they are faaar far away from the wet grip you get from premium tires or something like Nokian Wetproof. Would not buy them

Driving on mostly town for 30 easy going miles
I recently bought a pair of these Performance 2 tyres to replace a couple of ageing budget tyres on my car (fitted by the previous owner) and I am truly delighted with the improvement they have made. I didn't expect to be able to tell much difference, but the car feels noticeably smoother, quieter and just better overall. I can't compare them to other premium tyres, but well worth the money over budget alternatives in my opinion. Would definitely buy again.

Driving on a combination of roads for 36000 easy going miles
They came fitted on my SEAT LEONwhich I bought on 10/2015. I have been using them ever since, after 60000km front ones are almost at the wearing limit, they started squeaking while parking at ~25.000 miles. Rear ones are still ok, so I´m going to switch them to the front wheels.
They have a stunning performance on wet conditions and the dry grip is ok. After 20000 miles they started to lose some grip on starting to move on certain conditions (mostly trying to get on a roundabout) and the ESP had to take control for a second.
They have behaved well, and although I´m considering to try another brand, these are good tyres.

Driving on mostly motorways for 8000 average miles
Never experienced tyres lasting so long on a turbo diesel.
Excellent allround tyres.
Resistant to tracking issues (worn evenly).
Oem Seat tyres.

Driving on mostly country roads for 22000 average miles
These tyres came as OE fitment to the car. They have been disappointingly noisy right from the start, with noticeable tyre noise even at low speeds (30mph up), particularly bad on concrete motorways. The grip drops off markedly in the rain, with the increased braking distances noticeable at all speeds. There is also a marked increase in fuel consumption in the wet, suggesting the tyres are pushing a lot of water rather than dispersing it. Wear has been good, with 2-3mm left on the fronts at 22K miles of mainly A and B road driving in the Welsh hills.
I won't be buying these as replacements, looking for something better in the wet and quieter.
