I really like the ECS02. Feels very similar to the Pilot Sport 4S so perhaps not the sportiest of sports tires but has endless grip and good comfort. Plenty cheaper than the Michelin too and has the same warranty.

Solid studded tyre, not super noisy, very good on snow and seems as good as anything else on ice. Obviously it's not designed for handling but it's a nice driving tyre for a studded tyre. Highly recommended.

I have recently bought a 2016 Golf GTi which came with these fitted and they are not far off new. In the dry and warm the grip is excellent, you can really lean on them and feedback is good. They are also acceptably quiet and comfortable. However they are lacking in the wet. Damp cold conditions reveals particularly poor traction and grip. They are ok in warmer wet conditions but don't cope particularly well with standing water. Overall an acceptably good tyre if you live in a warmer climate but it hasn't got a balanced range of abilities like a newer Michelin or Goodyear equivalent.

These came with a Golf GTI I bought from a non main dealer, suspect the dealer put them on there just to be able to sell the car. Oh my god, I have never experienced such a bad set of tyres. Even under very little throttle input the tyres would spin in the dry. Thankfully I didn't get to experience these tyres in the wet properly and I suspect these would be just dangerous. Avoid these and get a better brand.

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 given 70% (225-40-18-)

Good outright grip and reasonably quiet for a tire in this class. Feels a bit mushy in the turn in and lateral handling compared to the previous version AS3+ which had more direct feel. Has a bit better ride than the AS3+ did, but in my opinion its not better enough to justify the decrease in steering feel and cornering grip. To be honest, I prefer the previous version and its "on rails" feel vs this new version that has more of a typical comfort oriented mix. I have a 2017 VW Golf GTI SE.

Without rotation I will get 16000 to 18000 km at the front. With rotation 30000km with a set of 4. Dry grip very good. Wet grip good.

Awesome in the dry, loads of grip and good handling, pretty good in the wet too though don't like cold english mornings. DO NOT RUN THEM ON TRACK. They melt. I ruined the right front in about 15 laps. Ergo I won't be buying again. Normally tyres last me a few trackdays.

Very good in the wet, hugely comfortable for the sector, seem to be wearing ok, but they're not as good handling as the Goodyears I had before.

Golf 7 2.0 TDI

Replaced my bridgestone ER300 with the F1 AS 5 goodyears.

The grip is excellent in the dry and just as good in the wet.

Road noise has been significantly reduced.

Wear is excellent. As the tyre has been designed and manufactured to a very high standard, the tread is actually treaded to very bottom of the tyre and not only half.
This means that you will have great wet grip throughout the whole life of the tyre.

What really surprised me was the fact the the tyre tread indicators are practically flush with the tyre, about 1mm high due to the manufacturing quality mentioned above.

I would highly recommend these tyres for anyone looking for performance, comfort and confidence in a tyre,

Spin during 1st and 2nd gear but overall an okay tyre, wouldn't choose this tyre but it was on my MK7 Golf GTI as standard so kept them but now moving on Michelin Pilot Sport 4.

Bought these tyres after reading good reviews on the web. I have driven them on motorways and street roads and can’t fault the comfort and grip of these tyres. After driving other GTIs with Michelin’s and Pirelli’s, the grip levels are very similar but comfort of the Goodyear’s are way better than its competitors. The comfort does however sacrifice road feedback when compared to the other tyres. For the price of nearly half the PSS this tyre definitely provides excellent value for money.
