A "no dramas" tyre, good comfort and low noise, very good wet grip and aquaplaning resistance. Good dry grip, heavy dry braking lacks positivity (i.e., you always stop where you expect, but pedal feel is poor). Wear is excellent, almost 30k miles and only just dropping to around 4mm (rotated once at 20k miles) which means they will be changed before this winter. Some tread damage during this year's heatwaves with small chunks missing near sipes, however this might be tracking related as well as heat build-up. Nothing to cause concern.

Snow performance is on par for an all season, good traction and braking with some hesitancy on turning. Can feel like its squirming on slush but that is consistent on ever all season or full winter I have driven. Very much more snow and ice performance than is really needed for the UK, unless you beach your car on a drift, you will always get home. (Tested in the Pennines on steep hills)

I previously had the gen 1 version of this tyre on my Freelander 2. That tyre was good in year 1 but in year 2 the 2 rears went a little out of shape and became noisey. The 2nd generation tyre has been superb and living in rural SW France has been used in very hot summer conditions, on mountain tracks and in fairly deep snow. Braking and handling has been superb in the dry, wet, and on snow throughout the year and there has been no adverse noise with this tyre. However with no difference in driving style they are on the tread wear markers at barely 20k miles when the 1st generation tyres did 28k.
I've never got less than 25k out of any set of tyres on this car since new, so the wear is the one disappointing thing.

Generally a great tyre but they're completely shot at the front and almost dead at the back within 16 months (10,500 km, almost all city driving). Granted they were on a fairly big and upright car so they've plenty of work to do but I have never had less wear out of four tyres.

A really good tyre on my Freelander 2 that has never let me down in a climate in S West France we we do get a fair amount of snow at times. I’ve found it to be very good in all conditions except ice which is tricky for any tyre. My only reservations are 1) that I think the wear could be a little better and I’ve just replaced them pre winter with about 2.5mm tread remaining after 26k miles If it was summer I might have risked a few thousand more though. More significant is that as with my previous gen 1 version they became really quite noisy in the last third of their life, particularly on the rear. Good enough for me to be happy to have fitted the Gen3 version .

switched over to the Goodyear all seasons gen 2 tyres on my Volvo xc60 after original tyres worn out at 18000 miles. Goodyear fronts just replaced after 41000 miles! the 107 wall rating means they handle English potholes far better than most. the rain and ice grip is good and snow is ok but obviously not as good as a pure snow tyre. Had 4x4 's for many years and wouldn't fit any other tyre now.

Live in Switzerland and have plenty of experience on snowy roads. The Vector Gen 2's performed just as well as a traditional winter tyre (I have alwys had Conti TS series,). A no brainer for me - the cost savings of changing tyres each summer/winter season will buy me a new set every 2 years!
