Bridgestone Dueler HP Sport Reviews - Page 4

Given 100% while driving a Audi Q5 (235/55 R19) on a combination of roads for 21,500 average miles
On my Audi Q5 which I bought in August 2012 , had Bridgestone Dueler H/P Sports. 235/55R19,
These tires are the original tires that were on my car when I bought it. My q5 has travelled 21500 klm , and I think they are 70% worn , been an SUV I have the tires rotated about 4 times a year, or every 3000 k's . I think these tires are great they are great in wet and dry conditions, they ride smooth and quiet , and looked after they will do the distance... I will definitely buy these tires again ...

Given 25% while driving a Audi Q3 (235/55 R17 V) on a combination of roads for 800 average miles
I purchased a new Q3 and thought the tyres were over inflated, I checked the tyres and found them correct. The car was new and I allowed time for the tyres to settle before I contacted AUDI after sales team. The car was a hard unresponsive and noisey drive, the tyres were ruining a good car. I have had 6 new Audi,s and driven thousands of miles on various premium tyres. These are the worst tyres I have ever driven on. AUDI came on a test drive and agreed with me then changed the tyres, they then tested the car again and could not beleive the difference. Well done to AUDI I am now driving a quality car again

Given 63% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan Sport 2.0 TDI 140hp (235/55 R17) on a combination of roads for 20,000 average miles
Came new with my VW Tiguan, ok in the dry but very poor in the wet or even damp, losing grip at slightest hint of rain. Useless in snow, I can honestly say worst tyre I've ever had in winter, so I'm changing to winters very soon.

Given 40% while driving a Volkswagen Tdi 4 motion (235/55 R17 H) on a combination of roads for 45,000 average miles
I'm an old guy ... done all that racing around stuff as a kid so I've no idea what 'the limit' is anymore ... so can't comment on 'progressiveness' ... the tyres are still going strong on the rear at 45000 miles ... fronts replaced around 35000. Tyres have been incredibly noisy due to the uneven wear on the rears ... sound like failed wheel bearings ... inner tread worn in stepped/saw tooth pattern which is apparently a common problem these days ... nobody will take responsibility. Tiguan ride on these tyres harsh and unpleasant. Hard to believe that car/tyre manufacturers feel this kind of thing is appropriate.

Given 89% while driving a Volkswagen Tiguan Sport 2.0 TDI 140hp (225/45 R17) on mostly motorways for 47 easy going miles
I have a set of these on my VW Tiguan, I have covered 47,000 miles on these and they are still road legal!. Amazing tyres these Bridgestones. The flip side is that I don't use brakes, don't excelerate hard, I don't corner hard, and don't drive at excessive speed - my by racer days are gone!!! This has a lot to do with it and it pays in tyre life. A great tyre for all seasons...

Given 61% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2 (235/65 R17 H) on a combination of roads for 15,500 easy going miles
Bought these to replace original goodyear wrangler on freelander 2, original tyres lasted 27k on fronts, 30k on rear. Bridgestones down to 3mm on only 15,500 miles and will need replacing in approx. 3k, thought I was buying quality product, wont buy again.

My brand new q5 came with Goodyear, yet my mates identical car in same build week came with michelin! Last q5 had Bridgestone....by far a better tyre that lasted...only lost 2mm per year!!

Given 66% while driving a Nissan X Trail 2.5 petrol (215/65 R16) on mostly motorways for 10,000 average miles
Bought a second-hand X-Trail with these fitted and done 10000 miles in about 4-5 months. Tyres had a lot of tread when I bought it, but are now down to about 2mm on the front so not really impressed with the wear. Grip proved to be fine in the snow when on the farm tracks and travelling fairly slow, but the ABS was working overtime when travelling down the back roads in snow/ice (although admittedly this was probably down to them being worn). Overall OK and will buy them again, but if they don't last longer than 10000 miles or so I'll be buying something else.

Given 56% while driving a Nissan Qashqai (215/60 R17 H) on a combination of roads for 27,000 spirited miles
High quality tyres that have lasted for around 27000 miles with 2mm on the front and 4mm on the back. They feel grippy in the dry but don't inspire confidence in the wet, for example they feel more prone to aquaplaning than tyres I've used in the past such as Goodyear efficient grips. For that reason, and their relatively high rolling resistance, I'm not purchasing them again. I don't mind having a slightly higher wear rate for improved wet performace, especially living in a country like the UK!

Given 26% while driving a Ford Kuga (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 7 easy going miles
I have a Ford Kuga with 19" Bridgestones, once the car had reached 5k the noise became unbearable. Ford and Bridgestone are aware of this problem which can only be rectified with new shoes! The noise that fills the cockpit is a whump whump / whoop whoop noise which the uneven tread on the road makes. Continentals for us next time, if I can stick the noise for much longer!
