New Tyre Categorisation - Tyre Reviews just got betterOver the past 5 years Tyre Reviews has slowly been growing in size, and with now over 700 tyres and 50,000,000 miles of reviews, all the data you’ve provided has allowed our tyre categorisation to get a whole lot better.
Historically tyres have been categorised into a few simple categories such as “high performance”, “touring” and “track day”. While this is fine for comparing a handful of tyres across a single brand, when your trying to sort nearly 1000 tyres over 43 brands things can get a little confusing.
The solutionTo combat this, we have spent the last few months working with the tyre manufacturers to re-categorise all our tyres into no less than 37 unique categories, a first for the world of tyres! For example, if you are looking for the fastest extreme performance tyre for your Porsche, you can head over to the Passenger Car Max Performance Summer Tyre category and see what’s been rated the best. Want a high performance all season tyre? No problem! Looking for the best all terrain tyre for your 4x4, we've got you covered. You get the idea.
Looking to the future, Tyre Reviews aims to share this data with any tyre manufacturer or retailer who would like to use it, meaning finding the right tyre will be an easier, more consistent task for all.
As always if you have any comments or questions please feel free to post below and here’s to the next 50,000,000 miles of reviews.
