Questions and Answers for the Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2 SUV

2018-06-03 - Hi, We live in the Alpes Maritimes in the South of France and have a Land Rover Freelander 2 4x4. We need a tyre that will run mainly in the dry, but that can handle heavy rain and also ice and snow from time to time. This tyre comes out top in the Auto Bild SUV All year test, but does badly in the snow and ice according to the ADAC all year test, which places Nexen N Blue All season top. So what do I choose for a 4x4? I have never heard of Nexen. I hope you can help.

The Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2 SUV is excellent in the snow and ice, far exceeding a summer tyre and on par with some winter tyres. I would choose this tyre over the Nexen.

Top Goodyear Vector 4 Seasons Gen 2 SUV Review

Given 80% while driving a Land Rover Freelander 2 (235/65 R17 V) on mostly country roads for 20,000 average miles
I previously had the gen 1 version of this tyre on my Freelander 2. That tyre was good in year 1 but in year 2 the 2 rears went a little out of shape and became noisey. The 2nd generation tyre has been superb and living in rural SW France has been used in very hot summer conditions, on mountain tracks and in fairly deep snow. Braking and handling has been superb in the dry, wet, and on snow throughout the year and there has been no adverse noise with this tyre. However with no difference in driving style they are on the tread wear markers at barely 20k miles when the 1st generation tyres did 28k.
I've never got less than 25k out of any set of tyres on this car since new, so the wear is the one disappointing thing.
