Falken FK452 Reviews - Page 4

Given 53% while driving a Jaguar S Type R (4.2 Supercharged) (275/35 R19) on a combination of roads for 3 spirited miles
These tyres perform reasonably in the dry for the price, but breakaway without warning in the wet, especially on performance rear wheel drive. The 275 rears also appeared stretched compared to the Continentals removed and when measured were a good 20mm under sized! The rears have been changed for Goodyear F1s, and what a difference. Better look, better grip, generally miles better all round.

Given 89% while driving a BMW 320D M Sport (225/35 R18 W) on a combination of roads for 20,000 spirited miles
Having removed the Bridgestones (after a nasty loss of adhesion) I fitted a set of Falken 452 - the difference was remarkable -the ride is much better, the grip is superb (especially in the wet), not as noisy and wear is excellent.
Done over 20k and probably another 5k or 6k before changing - would definitely buy again

Given 76% while driving a Lexus IS300 (225/45 R16) on a combination of roads for 23,000 spirited miles
I was a Pirelli fan until I got a poor performing batch. Based on reviews here, I tried this tyre on my lexus and I have been quite happy. The tyres are nearly done, maybe 2ooo miles left in them at most, but they have performed well in city driving, winding and difficult country roads driven way too quickly and on freeways. My only fault is the road noise out of this tyre but given the time they've lasted and performance given, it's a minor trade off for quality for money.

Very good tyres, quiet and comfortable. Dry grip is very good as well road feedback. Best choice for that price!

255 on front 285 on rear. Better than the previously fitted Pirellis in my opinion.

Very good tyre, have these on the front and Falken 912's on the rear. Best setup I've ever had! Great tyre doesn't under-steer on me and holds well. More traction than the rears so allows for a bit of rear slip but still holds well, and inspired confidence while driving.

Given 44% while driving a Jaguar X Type 2.0 FWD (225/45 R17) on mostly town for 12,000 easy going miles
Had these fitted on all corners, X type Jag Diesel. After 12K, front tyres at just legal, the rears still show 4mm. Garage suggests due to wear pattern the rears are under inflated, recommended an extra 4psi up to 36psi.
Replaced the fronts with Avon ZZ5 (on offer via Tyre Shopper.com @ 108.50 fitted.

Given 80% while driving a Smart Brabus (205/40 R17) on a combination of roads for 500 spirited miles
These are a popular choice for my car, at least in part because they are one of only two tyres available in both required sizes (205/40R17 and 225/35R17) for the car's stock wheels. I recently bought new wheels, and had them fitted with these, so the same size all around.

I absolutely can't fault these tyres EXCEPT the noise they make. At any speed they sound as if they are flapping about - it's not an entirely different noise to running on a flat tyre. I can put up with this for now, as I tend to have music on most of the time anyway, and they are otherwise very good.

They've been used in 2 degrees C dampness, and 20 degrees C dryness. In both situations they have held their own, and have proven to be quite progressive as you near their limits. Not once have I felt like I'll lose control - but that is at least in part down to the car.

Given 71% while driving a Audi A6, 3.2L, Quattro (245/40 R18) on a combination of roads for 15 average miles
Good tire. Replaced ContiSportContact2. Falkens are not as responsive as Conti's. There is a slight hesitation on turn-in before they respond but once they turn there is plenty of grip. The Conti's were razor sharp on turn-in. Wet grip is very good as well. Wear is better than the Conti's (wear on Conti's were horrible). The Falkens ride reasonably comfortable and feeback is pretty good. Overall, a good tire for the money and you will not be disappointed, however, I like a little more steering response. I'm looking for new tires and will probably try the new Falken 453.

Given 70% while driving a Vauxhall Monaro VXR (245/35 R19) on mostly country roads for 8,000 spirited miles
Got these on my Monaro VXR . They wear evenly and grip really well in the dry. Seem to ride on top of the water in the wet even at legal speed limits.I've done 8000 miles with these on and theres still around 4mm left so i'm very happy with them. They are very reasonably priced and dont feel as bad about smoking them now and again on the tarmac as I would with the price of their competitors

Given 84% while driving a Nissan 370Z (275/35 R19 W) on mostly motorways for 30,000 average miles
Just getting ready to replace my rear 452's after 30,000 brilliant miles. They have done everything expected of them, considerable quieter than the Bridgestones that were fitted as standard. In the last 5,000 there has been a little bit of extra niose from the rear ones, but i've got a niosy car anyway. The fronts will go for another 4 or 5,000 miles as they are still on 4.5mm. When you consider the price of them in comparison to Dunlops, Michelins etc they are fantastic value.
