Hankook OPTIMO K415 Reviews

Given 84% (breakdown) while driving a Skoda octavia estate 4x4 (225-45-17-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 31 average miles
Certainly have no complaints. I have done 31,000 miles and reckon they are only half worn. I had to replace the original Dunlop SP Sports after only 24,000 miles.

Had these on my Kia Sportage from new with 10K miles front are 50% worn and rear is 20%. Good value for money for a well performing tyre.

Given 84% (breakdown) while driving a Hyundai ix35 (225-55-18-H)
Driving on mostly motorways for 45,000 average miles
Will they last 50,000?? Having driven my Hyundai ix35 from brand new I am now heading into for 45,000 miles of mostly motorway driving and I'm still on the factory set of Hankooks. They been rotated and and there's a good bit left yet. For the record I don't drive like Miss Daisy! The car is not the quietest or the sportiest so difficult to rate them in terms of other performance but for wear alone they get 10 from me.

Given 86% (breakdown) while driving a Fiat Punto ELX 2007 (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 20,000 average miles
I have a Fiat Punto ELX, ran with it so far (14/10/2011) 20,000 km.

The tire is very good in the first 1.000Km felt little grip, but after the first 1.000Km adherence improved. Both in the wet and the dry it has been shown very safe, and even resistant to aqua-planing.

He had a Pirelli P7, of course there are differences, but certainly the 195 Hankook K415's proving to be an excellent cost-benefit.

fotes Points: Resistance to aquaplaning Stable and dry in the rain Even with the car tire over 180Km/ho remained stable

Weaknesses: Tire is harder the P7, so less comfortable

Conclusion: If we analyze the cost benefit is worth it for those who want a tire perfect quality without worrying about the cost

Given 90% (breakdown) while driving a Mercedes Benz W124 Estate (205-60-15-)
Driving on mostly motorways for 18,700 spirited miles
Overall: I think that this budget tyre delivers surprising levels of performance for its price range. My rating is benchmarked to what I paid for these tyres so in my books they performed really really well. In the dry: no complaints here. For whatever horses that remain in my old car these tyres are able to handle it all well. Hard braking, cornering on two wheels (ok not really) in the dry there is barely a squeal from the tyres and it has never let me down. Wet: Straight line stability over puddles are excellent. in excess of 100km/h over puddles and the car is arrow straight. Braking in the wet is reasonable. On a down note. When the tyres hit about one year the wet handling dropped. Hard bends in the wet would induce understeer. however straight line is not affected. Wear: 1 year and 30,000km long there looks to be plenty life left on the tyre. Really happy about that. Noise and comfort: I cant say that there has been much different between the noise and comfort since new to now. perhaps de-sensitisation or possibly they just havent degenerated too much. Overall i would recommend this tyre and i would buy it again. Though admittedly i'm tempted to try another flavour just for the hell of it.

Well this is the first time I have ever spent more than ?50 per tyre and after much research I decided to either go for Hankook V12 Evo K110's or Yokohama Parada Spec 2's. Seen as both tyres were on back order for my size, I was offered the K415's as an alternative. All I can say is they are amazing - quieter than the previous budgets, more grip, better in the wet and basically just an amazing tyre! I would definatly recommend and buy again altho id still like to try the V12 Evos! Also they were a bargain at ?82 each - thats cheaper than everything else I looked at! Just to see how long they last now!
