Volkswagen Golf GTI MK7 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S given 100% (235-35-19-)
Driving on mostly country roads for 2000 spirited miles
I got the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S to replace the PIrelli P Zero that came with the car and what a difference. Quieter, better steering and loads more grip. So happy with them!!

Driving on mostly country roads for 5000 average miles
Golf 7 2.0 TDI

Replaced my bridgestone ER300 with the F1 AS 5 goodyears.

The grip is excellent in the dry and just as good in the wet.

Road noise has been significantly reduced.

Wear is excellent. As the tyre has been designed and manufactured to a very high standard, the tread is actually treaded to very bottom of the tyre and not only half.
This means that you will have great wet grip throughout the whole life of the tyre.

What really surprised me was the fact the the tyre tread indicators are practically flush with the tyre, about 1mm high due to the manufacturing quality mentioned above.

I would highly recommend these tyres for anyone looking for performance, comfort and confidence in a tyre,

Driving on a combination of roads for 1000 average miles
Fitted these to my MK7 GTI and after 3 tyre changes in 21K miles I now have a tyre that is so much more comfortable with much lower noise levels. Cannot comment really on performance at this stage. Previous tyre was the Goodyear Asymmetric 2. Highly recommend this version 3 tyre for normal road use.

Replaced the old set of Continental CSC2 with this tyre. Only done 200km so far and, based on first impressions, this tyre is excellent. Much quieter than the CSC2. Grip on dry roads is very good (haven't driven in the wet yet). Very happy with the tyre. Will provide more reviews after 5000km.

Driving on a combination of roads for 100 spirited miles
Early review after just 100 miles so can't grade everything. Much more comfortable than the Continental tyres they replaced on the front of my golf, less noise, insane wet grip.

One slight negative if you like driving is the Pilot Sport 4 lacks a little steering speed compared to the old worn tyres, but it's not very noticeable.

Very happy with my purchase so far and hope to get more miles out of them than the last pair. Will report back!

Bought these tyres after reading good reviews on the web. I have driven them on motorways and street roads and can’t fault the comfort and grip of these tyres. After driving other GTIs with Michelin’s and Pirelli’s, the grip levels are very similar but comfort of the Goodyear’s are way better than its competitors. The comfort does however sacrifice road feedback when compared to the other tyres. For the price of nearly half the PSS this tyre definitely provides excellent value for money.

This tyre is excellent both in the dry and wet. However, it wears very quickly and having only done 8k miles this year a need a new front set.

Spin during 1st and 2nd gear but overall an okay tyre, wouldn't choose this tyre but it was on my MK7 Golf GTI as standard so kept them but now moving on Michelin Pilot Sport 4.
