I have used these on my current car and my previous Alfa Romeo 145QV. I tend to drive on the limit of grip and also enter sprints/hill climbs. Most sprint/hillclimb regulations are list 1A tyres only (normal treaded road tyres) and only some allow you to use list 1B (things like R888s) so I tend to stick to list 1A tyres and most people in the paddocks appear to use T1-Rs or A539s. So I have done about 70,000 miles on these and I rate these much higher than most normal road tyres. Good progression wet or dry, good dry grip (not the best but a good wear rate) resonable wet grip but I find progression more important in the wet, and a very good wear rate (as long as you don't scrub the shoulders off). On my E46 325ti rears last about 20,000 miles (including 2 trackdays and about 20 sprint starts) and the fronts still have about 3mm at 35,000 miles, although they will be changed soon as the outside shoulders are going. Rubbish in snow, use proper winter tyres.

Would have biught another set but budget not there this time.
They lasted 40k plus and i rotated them once.
Very good grip levels, excellent in the snow last year.
Recommended, though they have gone up in price by over 10% in the last year, maybe becUse they are made in Japan?

Having used michelin ps2's and conti sport 3's for many years the recent economic downturn has forced me to look at some mid priced tyres.
I was so impressed I have just fitted a new set to my MK5 Golf TDI 170.
I agree that they are great in the dry, progressiveness is not as good as the PS2's or conti sports but what do you expect for the money.
Wet grip is good and have only ever had aquaplaning when they were down to 2-3mm of tread like most tyres to be fair.
Road noise is a litte more than other tyres I have used.
Wear rate is as good as the michelins and conti's with a mix of motorway and spitited A/B roads at the weekends roughly 25,000 fronts, I've not replaced the rears yet but I would say between 45-50,000 on a front wheel drive.
A few of my friends also now use them and swear by them on his 370Z.
I would, and have bought these tyres again.
A good alternative would be the cooper zeon at this price.

Personally I'm impressed by the TR-1's, grip is probably way more than my car needs so it can be pushed to the limit quite easily. Better braking, cornering and off-the-line acceleration all round. No major drop off in the wet either, still performs well.
Snow and ice, forget it! This is 100% a summer tyre so if you plan to use all year round, nothing heroic for those four months is my advice...
I found having just the two (rotated to front and rear) with another brand was sketchy at best(grip balance issue), so I opted for four in the end and no regrets after that; made sense since these tyres are seriously good value too.
8/10

Great tyres much better than the pirelli p6000's that they replaced. Good grip in the wet, brilliant in the dry. Road feedback is also good car feels a lot more smoother when compared to the pirelli's i can't remember them being this smooth when they were new. Very comfortable and too loud on the motorway. Will buy again once they need replacing.

Very good tyres in the dry but as soon as the roads get abit damp they spin up all the time
I would buy for the summer but stay away if you live in a wet place the tyres lasted me 4months because of the way I drive I now have yoke s-drive and in the wet they beat toyo t1r's
Hands down but in the wet

For the money you can't go wrong very good grip in the dry and good grip in the wet, after all these are summer tyres. Road feedback is excellent and the tyres are comfortable and not too noisy. I've only had these on for 5k so wear is still good and most of my driving is done on mix of A roads and motorways. They do Seem to suit my type of car as i've heard very good things about them on car forums, and i will definitely buy these again.

Although they are sports tyres and not turing they are more quite than the Turanzas
Rim protecting profile
Very responsive
Cons: Slippery on surfaces that are neither dry or wet (during summer rains).
When on light gravel and then back on tarmac the car feels like on high hills! I actually have to use a flat screw driver to get all the small stones stuck in the tred
