Hero Milanza HZ1 Reviews

Given 39% (breakdown) while driving a Honda Accord Euro (225-45-17-)
Driving on a combination of roads for 15,000 average miles
Previous owner put this on the car just before he sold it.

Dry grip was okay, nothing special, but in the wet it was a nightmare; traction control always working overtime. Aquaplaning over pretty much any puddle.

Worst however was the noise! Having driven my friends car of the same year, make and model with PS3's on it it is an incredible difference.

For the price, I'd say these are not bad, you get what you pay for. But as a tyre that I'd put on a car with my family in it, I wouldn't touch them.

Given 87% (breakdown) while driving a Ford Focus mk2 (205-55-16-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 16,000 spirited miles
Even though these tyres are cheap, they are very very good. I bought them because I wanted directional tyres that had a fairly soft compound, as the roads in my town are atrociously potholed, and badly repaired, but I didn't want to spend too much. I was absolutely blown away by the grip of them! I'm a fast driver, and although it was only a 1.6 Focus with 115bhp, I threw it into corners like a go-kart and the tyres didn't want to let go! It's very progressive at the limit also, as you do get a bit of understeer to tell you you're being a bit stupid, but it's easily correctable.
I'm getting some of these tyres brand new tomorrow (new car, Saab 9-3 TiD 150), and I will get another review up here for these after I've put some miles on them.

Driving on a combination of roads for 17 spirited miles
These tires are absurbly good, so don't be mislead by the brand and name (as I was at first!). I ran on Michelin PS3 195/55/15 prior to these and put the Milanza'a on when I upgraded to 17's. The grip is a tad better than the PS3 in the dry, especially in corners, while in the wet, aquaplaning, though rare, is easily controlled. Only qualm is tht the 'devilish sweet spot grip' started giving-up on me after about 25,000 km, but I supposed tht's the average annual mileage for most anyway. Didn't really appreciate how much grip these tires had until I changed to the all-season touring Silverstone Atlantis V7, which in all manners is good, but not as close to as good as the Milanza's. I would buy again if I didn't have a high annual mileage of 50,000 km!

Driving on a combination of roads for 15 average miles
Great tires at a very reasonable price, I've yet to break these loose around a corner! (in the rear) They're a bit on the soft side as far as wear goes but I've put about 15,000km on these tires so far and they still look new. Definitely recommend buying.

Driving on mostly town for 12,000 average miles
These tires are surprisingly good, offering comfort, grip and feedback. I haven't had these tires that long to comment on wear but they should be okay for more than 12000 miles at the front of my Astra H sri 1.8 petrol. Would buy again!!
