275/45 20 Tyre Review Highlights

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV rated 84% while driving a Volkswagen TOUAREG V6 TDI
Driving on mostly town for 20000 spirited miles
Have run these tyres for three years and they have almost reached 20000 miles, mainly town driving. Depending on the road surface they can be noisy but generally are pretty quiet. I noticed some feathering on the outer rims at about 15000 miles but I understand that this can be quite common on some Touaregs. My main reason for buying these tyres was their expected longevity and I have not been disappointed. I consider 20000 to be good wear from a tyre, particularly considering the weight of the Touareg. I am due to change the rear tyres soon and may stick with the Goodyear but might give the Uniroyal Rainsport a try as they seem to be a very competitive price just now.

Triangle SporteX TH201 rated 70% while driving a Audi Q7
Driving on mostly town for 1000 average miles
For this size, th201 maybe is the cheapest performance tire, only 500 yuan (around 65 euros) each, but the performance is not very much behind those expensive tires I used before, such as Goodyear F1 Asymmetric SUV and Michelin LS3. Very recommend if you can buy it at this price.

Goodyear Eagle Exhilarate rated 56% while driving a Volkswagen TOUAREG V6 TDI
Driving on mostly motorways for 19 average miles
Just shy of 20,000 miles in on this set. I believe this is the review a lot of you are looking for. Right out of the box, these are not the best for wet conditions. Hydroplane very easily. That said, in dry, they are great tires, no additional road noise from new is great! I did have one tire break a belt/band and go out of round, so I am replacing these with new tires. I should say I am relieved to be replacing these. This winter was not fun. These perform very poorly in snow and ice and I have all wheel drive. So yes, this is an ALL SEASON, sure, BUT ALL WEATHER, absolutely not.

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 SUV rated 91% while driving a Mazda CX9
Driving on a combination of roads for 20000 spirited miles
Great handling superb comfort and excellent wear, these are the main assets of the assymetrics, although on the down side theres noise, they are quite succeptible to the highway different compounds , they can go from zero sound to a loud sound on a different compound , of course all tyres are succeptible to this althouh these seem to be moodier to these changes. but thats my only critisism ... on the other side you can feel how much precise the car is and the handling it will not depend on the tyre anymore, iltll depend on the car chasis to match the tyre performance.

Bridgestone Turanza T005 rated 59% while driving a Volkswagen TOUAREG V6 TDI
Driving on mostly motorways for 17000 average miles
Absolute rubbish for Touareg, DONT FIT. THIS ON A TOUREG. Hardly 17 000 kms done, Worn- out mainly driving in city at 60 km/h 25% on long distance trips on tar, at 130km/h. Good tyre for handling, but getting only 17000km, tyre should be 50% of cost of Pirelli Scorpios that lasted 38 000km

Continental CrossContact LX Sport rated 53% while driving a Land Rover Range Rover V8 Vogue
Driving on a combination of roads for 10 easy going miles
These tyres frightened me! On two separate occasions the completely ‘let go’ and aquaplaned on a UK motorway. There was some standing water but I was travelling at the same speed or less with other vehicles. On A Roads, hitting a puddle on one side invariably results in significant deviation from straight ahead. I previously had Falken Wildpeak - excellent in the wet and Pirelli Scorpion - satisfactory in the wet. I have no confidence in the Continental (as currently have around 6mm of tread) so will change ASAP.

Petlas Explero PT431 rated 89% while driving a Volkswagen TOUAREG V6 TDI

Good tires for cheap money, a little noisier than Falken Azenis FK510 Suv tires, but perfectly decent for the price.

Blacklion Champoint BU66 rated NAN% while driving a Volkswagen TOUAREG V6 TDI

First time I have bought these tyres for my vw touareg and last time. I fit a pair on the front and the car will not drive straight , they follow all the groves in the road and just wanders all over. I thought the tracking was out so I had it check and it was out a touch but nothing to moan about so I swapped the rear tyres to the front and all was sorted. Awful tyres that wear quickly.

Driving on mostly town for 4000 easy going miles
With only 7k km the front driver tire is kind of vibrating, could notice last time went to balance the Wheels. Im gonna try the 5 year warranty but Lost a Lot of confidence on them. Maybe because my car is Very heavy on the front: v8 4.5 twin turbo

Vredestein Quatrac Pro rated 87% while driving a Porsche cayenne s
Driving on mostly country roads for 2500 average miles
Review from Switzerland: Quatrac Pro 275/45/20 on a Porsche Cayenne S. (4x4 , V8) First of all I need to say It`s so cool to see that lots of Quatrac Pro drivers experience the smooth ride (because this is what every driver wants , no ?) I explain my decision for the Quatrc Pro and also why I bought this while living in Switzerland and having a tinyhouse in the Swiss Alps (Lauterbrunnen - Grindelwald Area) I`m also a tyre-freak same es John and many others here :) I have read a lot of reviews , here but also in the German magazines (Autobild) from the beginning this Quatrac Pro has been a very high rated tyre it`s not the best for snow (that`s right) but it safe for snow and that`s maybe the most important part. Here in Switzerland they are a bit old fashion - they better play safe and lots of people drive with full winter in winter, and full sommer in sommer, but as you all know the climate can change quickly.. stronger snowfall (earlier as exspected) or `later` then expected as we have lived 4 years right in the middle of the Alps at that time I bought Quatrac 5 on our Land Rover Discovery Sport, I have driven that tyre in full snow, mountain roads everything and I was flabberguested how good the Quatrac 5 was on our Land Rover. As we own now an heavy Cayenne S (with V8 and 4x4) (2008) I was looking for 1 set of tyres which keep us safe all year long and most important --> with a smooth and compfy ride and which will do a good job in the wet and I need to admit,... the look / design of the Quatrac Pro is really good! I had the CrossClimate+ on our A3 but that Tank-Pattern (V-shape) I never liked it to be honest.. So I decided to go for the Quatrac Pro (based on good experiences with the Quatrac 5) and I`m very positieve about this tyre. Smooth, comfy, looks great, fuel alright everthintg good: The only test I haven`t done yet with the Porsche is driving in snow (this will be a challange cause we have 275/45/20) but as they predict snow for next weekend I will update with a short Snow-Review. The Quatrac Pro is driving very comfy, sporty as well and looks fantastisc! knowing that the Quatrac Pro is really really good in the wet I think this is for every person who don`t like to change the wheels and want to be safe all year long. It all depends on in what area you live, what car you drive (rwd, fwd, awd) and also what do you expect from a tyre. We don`t go racing in winter, so we will be safe with the Quatrac, if you like to race in snow conditions then of course the Wintrac Pro is a much better option but: the Quatrac Pro has a lot of potential. I will update soon with a Snow-Review-Update. Kind Regards from Switzerland. Maurice
