Rover 75 Tyre Review Highlights

Writing about the Avon ZV5 given 94% (205-65-15-V)
Driving on a combination of roads for 37000 average miles
I am a little shocked at how short a time people say these Tyres last. I have had a set on for 3 years and have done 37000 Miles on them. Including a very long and fast trip through Europe. I have always felt confident driving with these Tyres in all conditions, including the hard winter of 2010 and the current conditions now. The tyres are almost at their limits and are due for replacement, with another set of ZV5's I may add, yet the handling is still good, though as I am sensible, I don't drive my Car in wet / cold / snowy conditions the same as I do in dry. If you are looking for a set of Tyres that you can drive "normally" with, then I do recommend these highly.

I was very happy with Dunlop SP Sport Maxx tyres however on switching to the Goodyears, the wear and wet grip are fantastic. Highly recommended.

Put these on just before Christmas 2010, a very, very cold December and January. Stuck to the road in some very icy conditions. So glad I fitted these.

Driving on mostly country roads for 26000 average miles
Am about to buy the 3rd front set of these for my Rover 75 diesel. They suit the car superbly and have just given 26,000 miles on the front of a heavy FWD car. Having driven through snow, floods, long haul and some seriously twisty stuff - they out-perform the car's abilities. I'd recommend these ofr this vehicle over anything else - they're up with the Bridgestone rears on my Porsche in terms of compatibility with vehicle. they're a good price too.

My only criticism is when they 'go off' - this happens over about 1,000 miles - you know about it - less feedback, a bit of tramlining and little bits of loss of grip where performance was previously solid - there's a few mm left before the wear indicator when this happens - but after 26k who'll complain?

A very good all round tyre.
Reasonably priced, refined which suited the nature of the Rover 75.
Excellent wear rate as the car was mainly driven on A & B roads.
Positive steering feedback.
An excellent tyre.

Driving on mostly motorways for 10000 spirited miles
Replaced Michelin tyres with Barums. Over the last 10,000 (mostly-motorway) miles the Bravuris 2's cornering and breaking has been excellent. I genuinely trust these tyres in the wet and I frequently drive on windy country lanes at speed.

I would suggest these offer a comfortable drive rather than a sporty drive, and this opinion is probably shaped by my Rover 75s soft suspension.

Driving on a combination of roads for 6000 average miles
Well, I got rid of the Federals and fitted the Event tyres.I have driven up and down from Scotland to Surrey several times now on motorways, a little noisy, but have driven through heavy rain and am more than pleased with the way the tyres performed.I hasten to add that I rarely drive at the limit.

I was a bit sceptical about budget tyres until I needed to replace all 4 in one go and didn't want to foot the bill for premium tyres. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised by these tyres. Admittedly, fitted to a Rover 75 diesel I don't exactly drive them on the limit! But in reality they aren't half bed. Grip is OK in the wet and dry and noise is better than the winter tyres that I took off. Also the rate of wear doesn't seem to be too bad. If I have any gripes it is that when new the tyre has 7mm of tread rather than 8mm as you would expect on most new tyres, but if I shop around I can get these for a third of the price that a premium tyre sells for. Good value as far as I'm concerned and I will definately be buying again for my rather sedate saloon! Maybe not the best choice for a more spirited driver though!

Driving on a combination of roads for 8000 average miles
I bought this car with these tyres on the front, and I cannot wait to get rid of them. When going round corners it feels as if the car is going to slide over to the opposite side of the road or into the ditch.I'm going to fit 'Event' tyres which have a better review and will confirm when fitted (this week)
